God Almighty gave us those laws. Are you suggesting that He didn't know better? How can that even be?

How do you know that it isn't part of God's plan to save that mooselimb, wickedan, or God-denier and let that person produce new soldiers for Jesus?

1 Cor. 7:14: For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

Do you want to deny that person the chance for salvation? How can you be so cruel?

Here's the problem with your theory, butterscotch: GOD NEVER CHANGES.

No, I'm saying that people are more civilized now that the barbarian tribes that inhabited the lands where the various parts of the bible were written, all those years ago. You might as well be following laws written by cavemen. Hell, THOSE are probably more civilized.

I agree that the people around here can be a little harsh, but they do believe in Jesus, so they can't be all bad, right? I came here looking for help to quit heroin and to quit tricking. And I'm clean still, so they've helped.

As far as the other stuff, well they don't pay so well down at the rehab center, and a girls gotta eat right? But I'm trying and reading that King James Bible helps I guess. But it's so hard to understand sometimes.

No, I'm saying that the world and society have changed since those laws were written.

Me, I don't agree with those laws at ANY time, but I can see them having a purpose three maybe four thousand years ago. Today? Nope. Not happening, folks.

You think God couldn't see the future?
                Matthew:
5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled
10:21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.
10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

                  I never said that.
I think God thinks we have enough common sense that we can figure out, for ourselves, that the world is changing and laws need to change with it.
He's right..... for most of the human race. Not so sure about you guys.

Where is that in the Bible? Also, how do you reconcile it with the following verse?

Prov. 3:5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

The Jesus of the bible is not some loving hippie who goes around throwing flowers on rifles. Very few people have actually *read* the NT, except for the bits they cherry-pick. Most xtians these days are what I like to call salad bar xtians, ie they pick and choose.

If they actually read the WHOLE THING, they would realize the Jesus of the bible is a far cry from the loving, wishy washy, Herculean 'hero' that most seem to think of.

I'm curious about something. Say a man rapes a boy. Does he then have to marry the boy, or do they both have to be stoned as abominations?

A man marrying another man is complete and utter abomination to the eyes of the LORD. The raper should be stoned, and the boy put into the BASH program, to be de-demonized and brought back into this Church's loving arms, asking Baby Jesus for forgiveness on his weakness. There is always a chance of forgiveness, as promised by Christ Jesus, even for shameless harlots like yourself.
Job 40:15-18 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

So the altarboy doesn't get any blame for stirring up the lust of the priest, for example?

Bad example, trollop. Papists are so committed to rebelling against God that it takes no special prodding to commit any sin. The only reason you don't hear of priests doing worse is because household pets can't launch lawsuits.
