Seriously, the racism and ignorance in here is unbelievable. Jesus called for love and peace. The fact that we are one of the most violent and warmongering countries in the world is so against that it's ridiculous. Anyone that promotes hate or violence on another culture on any other human being for that matter is not Christian. You have no proof that any man out there was chosen to write or translate the Bible to its current state beyond claiming faith, and that is solely because it happens to follow with your chosen opinions and hatred.

The only people we hate are those who hate God, just as the Bible commands. You see, Landover Baptist Church, unlike all the other false Christian churches out there, chooses to follow every single word of the Holy Bible, not just some of them. If that is your definition of "hate" then you have to take it up with God.

By the way, please show us where Jesus called for "love and peace" in the Bible.

Have you read Christ's book? It's called, oddly enough, The Bible. Do you think God is so weak that He couldn't make sure His True Words were written down properly? Of course not, and that's why we have the KJV 1611 Authorized version.

reading the beginning pages of this post, i was astonished at how much flaming was going on, along with the amount of racism toward the Japanese and also its culture. religion in itself is a bad idea in my eyes, all it causes is conflict after conflict, and please understand that this statement is not only aimed at christianity, but at all faiths and religions. It is not, in my view, that the actual believers are bad people, but the religion and the way people interpret the messages. some take them too literally, some not literally enough, and others just miss interpret them completely.

Anyway, back to the point - there is nothing wrong in the way that a certain person chooses to dress - just because an individual decides to wear a black dress and seeks attention through means of looking (to quote a post earlier in this thread) "'slutty' does not meen that they are the devil reincarnated and need to be told to do otherwise. There is something the western world and it seems most of the people on this thread are lacking. Respect for others and their choices. I meen we live in a world now where you cannot justify racism, or prejudice of any kind toward someone or a group of people that have been 'labeled' as goths, or emo's, or chav's (dont ask if you aren't from the UK ). Basically i hope that people will realize how down right stupid they sound, and ignorant of other cultures when they insult and ridicule others with no reason or regard to how other people might feel about the matter, in all honestly its almost selfish.

Lastly i would like to add that i don't care about whether or not you think i have a point, all that matters is that you acknowledge my view and accept that is how i am and how i feel. I am an atheist, and that suits me fine, deal with it or don't.

Well, I have to admit this has been a rather interesting forum to come across. I'll be honest and frank, I'm a bit of an agnostic. Now, I can very well understand that you wish for me to know God's love. And I am grateful. I have been reading a fair bit of things on these different subjects. And while I'm not here to judge anyone myself, It's a little disconcerting to promote god's love for the people on earth and yet have such hate against those who inhabit it. I have read the comments made about people here on this forum as well as those abroad. Such as the animosity towards the Japanese. I will not claim to being a scholor as I am still furthering my own education where I am. However, I can't understand how so many claim to know exactly what god wants. The bible has many many good things to say within it. And I actually live my life as a christian, as my family is. However, I do not keep myself so closed minded as to follow things blindly. I want to believe in something because I believe in it, not just because someone tells me that it is so. We are all human. We are all imperfect. We are all individuals. Stamping a label on someone because they are not exactly like you doesn't seem to me like it's putting much effort into trying to spread God's word and love. Unless you strictly follow the Old Testement and think that God is a vengeful and wrathful god that you should fear.

There are many religions in the world. Some make sense; others do not. However, most have the same roots. To insult the Jews is rather harsh. God abandons no one and favors no one because he loves all and his love is unfathomable. At least that is what I have been taught. And if you truly accept Christ as your savior for your sins, you will be accepted into heaven. I believe this to an extent. But I cannot fathom that there is only one absolute way into heaven. Is a person with no belief who is kind to those he knows and does what he can to be a good person be worse than a catholic priest who molested children or stole money from the church? Maybe that's a little unfair for me to say, as it is not the norm. But it does happen. There are plenty of 'good' people out there who do not belief the same thing I believe in or that you believe in. It just doesn't make sense to me that if you don't follow everything 'by the book', that you're condemned to everlasting hell. Just thinking about it logically doesn't make sense to me. I view the bible as being a book of stories that may or may not have been divinely inspired. However, it has also been written and re-writted again and again by man.

There are many mistranslations in the bible depending on the version that you read. Translating from the original Hebrew bible is imperfect. There are words that do not translate so well or don't have the same meaning at all. I've seen several examples, though am unable to reference any at this particular moment in time because I do not feel like spending that much time looking up at this current time.

I've spoken my mind on this, and I'm sure that what I have said here will change no one's mind in here. You are likely dead-set in your ways. I respect you for wanting to know and love Jesus and God. But please don't let your hatred towards others in the world blind you for wanting to help the world. For instance, with the Japanese; World War II happened many many years ago. Things change. People change. It is not the same country it once was at that era. My grandfather (who is still alive and very active within his church, mind you) served within the Navy during WWII. Unlike some of those who are here, he knows and understands how to forgive others. It is not anyone's place to judge another. And putting a label on anyone is passing judgement, no matter how you justify it.

I apologise for going on for so long. But I really wanted to get this out. I don't particularly want to draw this out for too long, but I will read whatever anyone responds to this.

In life I question everything, I do not want to live by the book that is over 2000 years old, and probably filled with mistakes and misinterpretations.
