Your analogy is not infallible. A person who has eat a banana before knows what it feels like, and knows that when he peels the skin, there will be a white color fruit. A person who has never eaten a banana will not be able to differentiate between the two.

Similarly, when a naive person reads the Bible or the Holy Quran or the Bhagawad Gita, he may understand it completely different from the way he is supposed to. The intended meaning can only be taught by someone who is knowledgeable about the scriptures, and cannot be understood by someone who attaches meaning to every phrase in the Bible.
