Huh? You want our children to die from illness? I don't get it.

Whenever we pray and take steps to make God happy, our children get better. Explain THAT!
I take my orders from Jesus H. Christ, supernatural born US citizen

Be wary of false Kumbaya Christians who use a highlighter and scissors to read the Bible. God wants us to read the lines, not between the lines. False Christians will go to Hell:
    Matthew 7:22
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Asking a Christian to prove God exists is like asking him to prove his phone rings because yours doesn't. Make that call yourself! Dial 0800-get-on-your-knees-and-pray.

        Dear friend:

Why do you hate our children so much? What did they ever do to you?

Won't someone please think of the children?

This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Friend, what should we do, celebrate our children being sick? Throw a party, go on vacation. Please, do tell us, we'd all like to know.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

My wife has prayed over our sick children as my father prayed over me and his father prayed over him. If prayer and the power of God didn't make them all well and better than please explain how I got here.

I never use medication and neither have any of my sons or grandsons. If God wants us to suffer we are supposed to suffer. Not to try to sneak out of it. It's always a signal from God and it's your job to figure out why the signal is there and what you have to do to fix it.

For example, a little while back I stepped into a bear-trap. And I assure you, that hurts a LOT! I even had to skip Bible Study because of the pain. Did I take medication? Of course not. I was an idiot for not watching where I walked. And I got what I deserved. I learned the lesson God was teaching me here.

How exactly is praying for a sick child wrong? And how does it compare to prying open a woman's cervix and sucking out a half-developed pre-born baby with a vacuum cleaner, tearing it limb from limb in the process?

I think the point the OP (original poster) was making is that when you've got a sick child, don't pray and substitute it for medication. I don't see anything wrong with praying AND giving them something, but not giving them something is negligence.

It's the other way around. Giving the medicine is negligence. Sickness is a punishment from God for doing something wrong. By trying to sneak out of that with medication you perhaps fix your body but you destroy your soul. And your soul is much more important than your body. It's your soul that goes to Heaven if you follow the Holy Bible, not your body.

Let's back up for just a second. What is it that Mr. Ripper and philip have against proper child care? Do they also suggest that we give our children Ritalin instead of beating them when they misbehave? Should our children die from illness and then go to Hell because we didn't care for them?

These two need some serious Christian outreach. It's not healthy to hate children the way they do.

I don't disagree with you, when you say that praying for a sick child can be beneficial, as God gave us the gift of prayer, but we were also given brains, and the ability to learn, and with that there comes a responsibility to use what we learn to help others around us. so surely giving medicine to a child is the opersite of negligence (?)

It would appear Brother Man has already explained it.

We have to look at why a child becomes sick. Let us review a passage:

                              2 Chronicles 16:12-13
And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the LORD, but to the physicians.

And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign

Clearly, the only way to get rid of disease is through prayer and figuring out why exactly God was angry at the child. If we use medicine, the disease will go away, but God will still be angry at the child. So that's not solving anything, really.
