All-night gaming binges are harmless in moderation, but this week one married Korean couple discovered the awful consequences of letting virtual life overtake real responsibilities.
The pair -- who were hooked on an online game called "Prius," where they were raising a virtual daughter -- were arrested by Korean police this week and charged with failing to care for their three-month-old baby daughter, who died of malnutrition last September.
They admitted to feeding their child rotten powdered milk, frequently spanking her, and leaving her at home during marathon sessions at the "PC bang" gaming clubs that are a staple of Korean gamer culture.
"They called in last September to report that they found their daughter dead after coming back home in the morning," a Seoul police detective told ABC. "They had spent 12 hours, all night, at a PC bang."
It's not the first Korean death linked to gaming addiction, either: in 2005 a man collapsed and died after playing 50 straight hours Starcraft at a PC bang. I thought those were okay. The boys were always bugging for video games, and I thought these would be a good comprimise as opposed to getting them Satan's games.

While I agree that the video consoles are ultimately harmful to a child's development, and should be crushed like this:

It's not something that should be done without caution, because it has also been proven that video game addicts are more violent during withdrawal.

Parents who aren't careful risk becoming the target of their child's aggression. A full series of deprogramming interventions would be suggested. This would include two weeks at Bible Camp. as well as being kept at home at all times under full supervision. If you let the kid go out he's just going to race over to Johnny's house to play x-box and fall under Satan's spell, once again.

Satan is behind the video game industry.

Considering that i know this all is true (as for i have seen these places before, they are crazy packed and always running) i am not surprised where the video-game deaths took place. There are some truly stupid individuals out there who only have talents playing Starcraft and see that the should do nothing else let alone the fact that game is old in technology standards. I agree, if you child overdo's gaming and takes it to the extream that they shouldn't have gaming open for them often in their life.

Also, At least if you are going to get rid of it sell it, get some money from it. Sure smashing it removes it from exsistance but they make them 5 times faster then you can smash one, so minus well recycle it and get some money for something else.

I must also add, Personal Computers are also well known for gaming so wouldn't that put them grade A on the list. Starcraft as they mentioned runs on PC's (and don't say Macintosh is the answer, one it is never the answer and two it can play starcraft) and yet computers are also the most resourceful tool we have if you have to keep up with the world real time. Gaming isn't always bad either its only excessive gaming that brings true problems. besides, some games actualy deduct people to have to think hard and quickly which if someone does maybe an hour every other day can improve their ability to process and think creativly, so not all gaming is bad.

If you want bad gaming, look at (also because i hate it myself) Modern Warfare 2. There's no strategy at all and its completely off scale. It had an "interesting" aspect but it is nothing but killing. People who feel against that feel free to speak but its true, Modern Warfare 2 is a great example of graphically violent gaming with nothing grand to it, it won't help you a single ounce in life.
