Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I had an issue come up today with my oldest son. I told him to sit down and do his daily scripture copying (part of his homeschooling) and he challenged me saying that I did not have the right to rebuke him since I was just a woman.
Fortunately my husband is home this week and was standing behind him when he said it (he didn't realize DH was there) good thing too, he did his copying standing up today.
But this got me to thinking. A woman should not usurp a man, and obviously at the age of 9, he's far from being a man. But what is the deal with sons and their mothers? Is there a point where they will "out rank" me (for lack of a better term)? Do son's not count when it comes to this?
I don't think any of my sons will be challenging my authority for now, but my husband spends a lot of time on the road with his job. So I'm not sure what's going to happen next week when he hits the road.
