Don't overreact. I, for one, don't agree women should absolutely NEVER leave the house. I believe she can get permission and maybe, if her husband or father will agree, let her out for tasks, chores, and other necessary reasons--with time constraints, of course. And naturally, a girl's father can authorize a young maiden for very brief amounts of time. I mean, who is going to make trips to the store while we are watching our ballgames?

I'm a woman, I leave my house anytime I want, in fact I spend almost all day in college, sometimes with my friends and others I go out somewhere with my dad.
