    Summer cats

As a caring father, I am always eager to give my children incentive to behave. I reward good behavior, and smack them if they misbehave.

During the autumn, I can promise them Christmas gifts if they behave. But what about the spring? Of course, I promise them what in Sweden is known as a "summer cat". This means that I get a kitten, which entertain the kids during the summer, and then release it in the wild when the summer is gone. Keeping the cat just brings unnecessary work, and removes an important incentive next year.

Of course God will take care of the cat, but we always get in trouble by atheists and animal rights activists who think that keeping a cat for a summer is evil. God would never create an animal who can't live in the wild.

Btw, I don't get any luck if I google for summer cats. Is the jaundice against families an issue just in socialist Sweden?

    Re: Summer cats

In the UK there is a saying "A pet is not just for Christmas". It makes no mention of the summer and therefore I believe that you should continue what you are doing.

However, I must bring up one point. You say that God would not create an animal that could not live in the wild but he created woman, did he not? I wouldn't fancy a woman's chances of spending a night all alone in some woods, armed with only a penknive, an unerected tent, a gas stove and a few tins of baked beans.

Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.~Psalms 137:9

      I am so happy!

Actually woman can survive night in the woods. We (me and Mrs M.) had this funny incident with bear last autumn when we where picking mushrooms in a forest. Well, Mrs M. was, I was enjoying a beer after hard driving to the countryside. Anyway, suddenly Mrs ran towards car bear running behind her. I didn't have my rifle with me so what could I do? I started the car and drove away so that bear wouldn't scratch the paint. I went to home and began to miss Mrs M. in the morning when my kids where asking something to eat.

So I drove back to the forest and there she was waiting for me. She had climbed to a tree and started to nag and bear fled. You would have too, Mrs M. can nag your ears off.

Anyway, it proves that woman can survive night in the forest.

I actually live in a forest, but there are many heathens lurking, eager to get off their heads on toadstools, absinthe, DMT, amyl nitrites, LSD and sex sex sex — there are no bears in Australia (or in England either for that matter, where I also live in a woodland environment: plenty of heathens though ) — but from the sounds I hear, there is plenty of cannibalism going on!!!!!! But it is possible to survive..

I respect you for that. I bet bears are minor threat compared to those heathens. Bear may rip you arms off but heathens rip your soul!

You are quite a woman I wonder would my wife have any change against those heathens.

              AMEN!
I should mention that I live in a house, in a forest. There is no carvivorous wildlife in Australia (except for any feral zoo animals that might be out there) but plenty of poisonous things. Oh, I suppose crocodiles eat people, don't they? and birds eat snakes. The heathens put little lights up in the trees - it's easy to avoid them.
