  • Children's songs

I notice children are being taught how God perfectly loves. I am concerned however, that they are not being properly informed about how God perfectly hates as well. After all, fearing God is knowledge. Proverbs 1:7

I propose we start some new children’s songs.

To save space, the chorus will only be fully said once. After that, it will be replaced with (Chorus).

    Original version
Jesus loves me! this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
    Little ones to Him belong;
they are weak but He is strong.

    (Chorus)Yes, Jesus loves me!
    Yes, Jesus loves me!
    Yes, Jesus loves me!
    The Bible tells me so.(Chorus)

Jesus loves me! He who died
    heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
let His little child come in.

    (Chorus)

Jesus loves me! He will stay
close beside me all the way.
Thou hast bled and died for me,
I will henceforth live for Thee.

    (Chorus)

Jesus loves me when I'm good.
When I do the things I should.
Jesus loves me when I'm bad,
but it makes him oh so sad.

    (Chorus)
    Improved version:

God hates sinners! This, I know,
For the Bible tells me so. ( Psalm 11:5 , Psalm 5:5-6 )
He’ll send them where they belong.
They are weak but He is strong.

    (Chorus)Yes, God hates sinners!
    Yes, God hates sinners!
    Yes, God hates sinners!
The Bible tells me so. (Chorus)

God hates sinners! when they die,
    Satan’s pits to open wide.
God can wash away your sin
but only if you let Jesus in.

    (Chorus)

God hates sinners! He will slay
    Any sinners in his way
    Jesus temporarily died for me
So it’s only fair you get on your knees

    (Chorus)

God allows me to live when I’m good.
When I obey him as I should.
God flings you to hell if you are bad,
though it makes him very sad.

    (Chorus)
    Original version
    Deep and wide
    Deep and wide
There's a fountain flowing deep and wide
    Deep and wide
    Deep and wide
There's a fountain flowing deep and wide
    Improved version:

    Deep and wide
    Deep and wide
There’s a lake of fire flowing deep and wide.
    Deep and wide
    Deep and wide
Satan’s pits are flowing deep and wide.
    Original version

The wise man built his house upon the rock
The wise man built his house upon the rock
The wise man built his house upon the rock
And the rain came tumbling down

    Oh, the rain came down
    And the floods came up
    The rain came down
    And the floods came up
    The rain came down
    And the floods came up
And the wise man's house stood firm.

The foolish man built his house upon the sand
The foolish man built his house upon the sand
The foolish man built his house upon the sand
And the rain came tumbling down

    Oh, the rain came down
    And the floods came up
    The rain came down
    And the floods came up
    The rain came down
    And the floods came up
And the foolish man's house went "splat!" [clap hands once]
    Improved version

The wise man built his life upon the Bible
The wise man built his life upon the Bible
The wise man built his life upon the Bible
And the plagues came tumbling down.

    Oh, the plagues came down
    and the floods came up.
    The plagues came down
    And the floods came up
    The plagues came down
    And the floods came up
And the wise man’s life was spared.

The foolish man built his life upon science.
The foolish man built his life upon science.
The foolish man built his life upon science.
And the plagues came tumbling down.

    Oh, the plagues came down
    and the floods came up.
    The plagues came down
    And the floods came up
    The plagues came down
    And the floods came up
And the foolish man’s life went “splat!”[clap hands once]
Close minded people are just right people who don't want to spend time arguing.

Great songs, friend. One great one for kids is Whatever Happened to Sin? http://www.lyricsmania.com/whatever_...ve_taylor.html Unfortunately, it has rock-and-roll like music, so the tune, beat, and instrumentals have to be changed. My family sings it to the tune of our favorite hymms, and our youngest daughter plays the harp for back up.
1 Corinthians 14:34 Shut up and get back in the kitchen!

What lovely re-writes of old time classics! Praise God! I'll have to pass these along to the boys. Incidentally, they've got they're own little re-writes they performed at the annual "Boy's Night In The Lonely Woods" retreat a few months ago. Here's a little taste...

I was proud of myself today. When I was beating up a darkie on the street corner I was singing loud enough to wake the whole neighborhood. Nothing says God loves like some good ol' fashioned Hating.

I pray you didn't break any secular laws (Romans 13:1).
