HomeSchooling Question - Should we teach women to read and write?

    Dear Fellow Christians,

We (God's Hammer Baptist Church, Westfield, Massachusetts) have received a lot of bad press recently because of changes to our Home Schooling Curriculum. Well, I would just like to take this opportunity to answer our Godless critics - who say our refusal to teach the young women of our congregation how to read and write is both evil and sexist. Friends, there is nothing evil about it! We are saving these girls from a life of disappointment, a life of heartbreak, a life of misery.

There are so many evil feminist Nazi’s out there who fill these girl’s heads with pipedreams and nonsense. They tell them women are just as smart as men, and other feminist lies. These are the kind of people would build your children’s hopes up, only to dash them. Friends, there is no hope to lose if they have none to begin with. And who needs a career anyways, when you have a husband and little ones to tend to?

So let me first say this - No good Christian man wants some childish gossip-monger and silly-head for a wife. Most women of today go around with their head so full of trash and nonsense, gossip and garbage. They spend a great deal of their time worrying about people they don't even know, thinking about their own selfish little daydreams, Godless celebrities and Satanic fashions, instead of concentrating on reality. This is exactly the reason we stopped teaching our girls reading and writing in the first place!

Just listen to some of the silly nonsense that so-called 'educated' girl's talk about today - “Will Brad split from Jen this week? Will J-2-Lo's baby be a boy or a girl? Will Puffydog go to Prison for his latest gun-drug-rap felony? Will JFed get custody of Britney's kids???... blah ... blah ... blah.... blah.... blah.... ” Shut up woman, and get back to your cooking!

We teach OUR women what they NEED to know - How to make their prospective husbands happy, and to raise joyful well-adjusted children - as good women should. ONLY male children are normally taught to read or write in our community. Females are taught how to sew, clean, wash, make clothing, cook, look after the little ones, and similar skills and talents more suited to their female nature. I see nothing wrong with this attitude, as it makes for happy families.

But let me just add that we are NOT completely against teaching girls how to read or write. There are SOME exceptions to the rules ie. girls who show great promise. Girl’s who serve God, not their own selfish natures. These are the kind of girls we should be CHOOSING how to read and write. Girl’s like our own Sister Ruth Clark, who paints signs for our peaceful Christian protests and helps with our loving Christian website. Women on these forums, like the gentle Sister Talitha, who knows how to please God and is actually a Super Moderator here at Landover! Thank the Lord for Sister Talitha! Then we have women in other Churches, like the good Sister Shirley Phelps, who all but runs Westboro Baptist Church single-handedly - even though she’s a filthy whore with a fatherless bastard child, we’re sure God appreciates the work she’s doing. Glory!

We must be more choosy with the girls we DO teach how to read and write. After all, we have THEIR futures in OUR hands.

    Praise Jesus!

You have to be right there Brother.

True Christian(tm) Ladies have to learn how to Bake Pies, make Protest Banners, Cook and Clean and know how to make Christian Soldiers for Jesus but really there is no point in giving too much education unless they are exemplary (Like myself).

I mean, why teach Women stuff they will never need nor use.

I'm afraid they aren't learning about these topics by reading about them. They watch the TV while they cook, then parrot the stuff they can remember when daddy gets home.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Exactly. At least if women can read, they can read the Bible in what little free time they have instead of watching TV. Not that a woman should have too much free time, it's just a thought.

          Thank you Brother Nobar,

You make a good point here! These wicked 'gossip magazines' they sell our Children are just the start of it... Then we have the evils of MTV and secular television also to contend with! We must CENCOR EVERYTHING from our young impressionable and easily-led females - lest it lead them astray! I would rather have an illiterate daughter, than have a daughter burning in Hell for her silly-headed gossip-mongering and rumor spreading ways!

We did have a few select members of our congregation who read all books beforehand, to see if they were 'safe' for our young women to read. But this took too much time and effort - time which could be devoted to Praising Jesus and Glorifying God. It is far easier not teaching them to read or write in the first place, UNTIL they prove themselves to be trustworthy enough to read only the Holy Bible KJV1611, and nothing else! Glory!

Every week my husband, Mr. Whitford, has me write a report on what I've learned from the Bible that week. So I'm torn on this issue. Without women reading and writing, I wouldn't be saved. But without women reading and writing, our society wouldn't be falling apart with feminazis getting unnatural ideas in their heads and we wouldn't be facing the threat of another Clinton presidency.

              Cecily,

While I understand where you are coming from here, these are changing days we live in. You probably don't see this because you have the protection of your husband to guide you.

But the women of today don't want to be reading the Bible or praying to God anymore, they want to be reading vile Godless Gossip magazines - full of Heathens, lesbians, Scientologist's baby photographs, half-naked Celebrities and similar garbage! It gets me upset even thinking about it! We must do EVERYTHING in our power to protect these silly-headed females from the wicked world around us.

IF they show enough promise, as I am quite sure you and many of our good Sisters on here did, only THEN would they be taught how to read and write.

The more I read, the more I think I really dont need to be here. Of course women and little girls need to be taught how to read and write,,How do you think they are going to get along in this world without it!! The world would be in sad ( more sad) than it is now if it wasnt for the ladies in our history,, These ladies knew how to read, write. It should be the woman choice if she wants to stay home or work outside the home. Either one she chooses,It is her choice. How can she teach the Bible if she does not know how to read, How can she teach her children in home school. And yes teaching to raise good children is a must, being good to husband Who has to be good to her too, It is Equal in a marriage, not one sided..

How do you think she is able to teach her children the Bible? By listening to her good Pastor's word in sermon, and spreading it down to her children. I really see no reason why any female need be taught how to read, unless they plan on devoting their lives to the Church, like our good Sisters on here.

And how DARE you say marriage should be equal. Remember women were made FOR man, not the other way about. They should show their husbands the respect he deserves, and never disagree with him, even when they know he is wrong. What are you? Some sort of FemNazi?

The way I see it, the problem isn't whether women should read; the problem is what women should read. A woman's ability to read can be a blessing just so long as her father or husband watches what she reads and keeps her from anything objectionable.

I am happy that my wife can read. But then, she is only allowed to read the Bible, Southern Living, and Crosswalk magazine.

The key is that a woman's reading material must carefully chosen and censored. I couldn't imagine the horror if instead of surprising me in the kitchen with some new recipe she found in Southern Living, my wife were to surprise me in the bedroom with some new sex technique she found in Cosmopolitan .

Upon request I will cite scripture for all these facts in God's Holy Word.

✝ This is a Christian community and we worship GOD of the Holy bible, the only Living GOD. We worship Jesus Christ, Son of GOD and Savior. Anything else is absurd. ✝

Read my signature. That's only one quote from scripture that describes the married relationship. The Bible is clear on everything, but one of the things it's extra clear on is that the wife is to submit to her husband. There isn't a single word saying it should be "equal". You need to shave your legs, put on a modest dress, and treat your husband as the Bible commands - as your lord and master. As Jesus is the head of the man, the man is the head of the woman. Denying it doesn't make the words any less real.
