Firstly you should all know that there are two types of Goths.

The first type the one you are talking about is the subculture.

The second type is the original goth.
The original goths lived around the 3 and 4th century.
They lived as normal people they did NOT dress in black etc...
They were made up from the east germatic tribes and there religion was Arianism.
