            They say that people with autism sometimes have certain skills like photographic memory (eidetic memory if you want to be precise). Maybe you can use your skills to memorize the KJV 1611 Bible?

              It doesn't exist, because the words "autism", "mental" and "retardation" do not appear in the King James Bible.

              But, Deuteronomy 28 is in there. So let's have a look-see at what it says:

              Deuteronomy 28:15 "But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:"

              It then goes on to list quite the menu of afflictions, and verses 28 and 29 can be enlightening as to God's mindset vis a vis those who suffer from mental illness:

              Deuteronomy 28:28-29 "28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart: 29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee."

              Note: in many translations, the phrase "astonishment of heart" appears as "mental confusion", which may be clearer to modern readers of English.

              So we can clearly see that the Bible says that mental illness of whatever form is caused by God afflicting those who disobey Him. If you'd like, I could also dig up and post the Scriptures that say faithfully praying to God is the only cure for everything, and that if you look to "science" or "doctors" for help, God will kill you and send you to Hell.

                It is not something that can be healed, as it is not an affliction. I saw didymus' post, and read the whole chapter of Deuteronomy 28, and unless I missed something, it states mostly physical afflictions, and possesions being taken away. However it still seems you have no proof to back up the retard thing.
                I'm actually planning on reading the whole KJV bible, because I am planning on reading all religious books, like the Tanakh, the Tipitaka, and the Tao-Te Ching, to see different religious veiws of different cultures. I personally find culture fascinating.

                      I am not saying that is an affliction, or a choice. It is more of a neural difference. I would never say that I'm not responsible for my actions. I'm just as responsible for them as you. The only reason people with autism are known for "misbehaving" is because we don't always know what might be a bad choice. I'm actually very quiet, and one reason is that I'm afraid of offending someone on accident. I will feel bad if I think what I said might have hurt someone else, and will be very hard on myself. If you want to know More about how autistic people feel, check out the online comic dubbed "autalkz". While the main protagonist seems to be the result of a genetic engineer splicing a Homo Sapien with a Canis Lupis, the comic itself is very informative.
