As we all know from Proverbs 23:13-14 "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die."
However, beating your babies with rods, while effective, does not make for a good night's sleep. As babies are extremely susceptible to satan's influence and will reject the punishment as well as the Will of God by crying. I know this from experience. I have a 1 year old boy who constantly tries to defy God by masturbating and crying/laughing in church. I have found these punishments to be the most effective in putting the fear of God into these rascals.
Idea #1: Withholding the luxury of breast milk.
The first time my 1 year old (a few months at the time) started laughing in church this was the first thing that came to mind. I forbid my wife from breastfeeding our son or giving him any type of food for the day. She laughed at me proceeded to breastfeed our son so I was forced to strike her.
Idea #2: Physical restraints
After my baby started crying in the middle of the night for absolutely no reason (he was 2 months old at the time, no excuse) me and some of my Christian friends decided it was the best idea to tape his mouth shut. When he started rattling his crib I tied his hands and feet to the crib. Eventually he stopped fighting it.
Idea #3: Isolation
If your child seems to enjoy your wife's company more than your own, it's entirely possible that he/she is possessed by a demon and either wants to force your wife to commit adultery (in my case) or kill you and marry their mother (in the case of a friend of mine). The only way to put a stop to this is putting your baby in isolation for up to a week at a time. The only human contact your baby should have is when you're feeding them. This will bore the demon into releasing your child.
I hope you all enjoyed my ideas and I am not a professional caretaker but I know that the Lord guides my life. And that is enough for me.
