It is the charitable season once again, and I was reminded of this today while being driven through Des Moines.

It never seems to fail, to spark that fire of generosity in my heart whenever I see a shivering, hungry face. Only one thing goes through my mind.
"That guy is gonna start breaking into houses soon!"
Now burglary is bad enough, so you can imagine how traumatic is must be for the blind. This is why I donate one or more weapons to Firearms For the Blind every year around this time.

I feel so passionately about this cause that when I decided to purchase a second home in Freehold last year, I immediately contacted Iowa's Republican representatives and urged them to grant concealed handgun permits to visually impaired Iowan residents. You can imagine the pride I felt when in September of last year such a law was passed.
I urge you all to give to this noble charity. Any and all donations are welcome, be it a shiny new H&K 91 or a single shot .22, no working firearm will be turned down. You will have a warm sense of self-satisfaction and a beautiful feeling of peace in knowing that you have done your part in keeping a home and street a little safer. Arming the blind puts firearms into the hands of an untapped demographic while showing the community what Christian charity and compassion really are.
Isn't it time you show how much you care?
