    Your god

    I'm here to ask you how you know that your god truly exists. This isn't a question particularly for you, but for all religions. How do you know he exists?
    How do you know the god you worship doesn't exist, but the god of another religion does? What if there is no god at all?
    A question directed towards you would be: Do you believe in equality? You seem to think that women are tools or something of the sort. You detest homosexuals. Is this what the bible teaches you to believe? I've read some posts and saw that you do not believe Jesus is in fact peaceful. You do know that his story was made years before he existed, right? He may as well be a legend all by itself.
    I'm not here to flame you like Wes did, so I hope you don't flame me and answer these questions.
    Also, what if you're wrong? What if there's no life after this one? What if we all end up in the same place regardless of what we did in this life? What if you're just reincarnated? What can you do to enforce the fact that your god exists?

      Why do you hate Jesus? What reason could you possibly have for wanting to spend eternity in hell?

      We ask the questions here, not you.

      What have you done to ensure your eternity?

          I don't hate Jesus. I just don't believe in a religion.
          What have YOU done to ensure your eternity?
          Is discrimination against certain groups the only way to get into heaven? 'Cause I think I'd rather go to hell than be like that.
          I don't want to spend an eternity in hell. I don't even know if hell exists. I don't even know if it does exist, if it's bad. Look at how the Greeks displayed hell. A place where only heroes triumph. How are you so sure maybe they're not the ones right?

              I think by "exist" you mean "real". For us humans, for something to exist it must be real, correct Curiousity? Will you agree with that so far? SamIam

                      Obviously a god must be real. Either that or our race just can't live without thinking there's a super natural being watching over us.
                      Ezekiel, that gives me no proof. That just gives me an insight of the faith people have for Christianity. Or, your Christianity, anyways.

                              Alright, so we agree, for something to exist it must be real. Now, let's define "real". You and I both probably define it the same way - we use quantifiable evidence gathered via our five senses: that which we can see and hear, smell and taste and touch. But, if real IS what we can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch then real is merely electrical impulses sent from our sense organs to our brain. In a manner of thinking - if you go blind, will the sun stop existing because you can't see it shine?
                              If you're deaf does music stop existing because you can't hear it? Of course not. So we determine that quantifiable evidence isn't a very good way of ensuring our reality. But, now we have a problem.
                              We start looking at our world differently and we see things we never noticed when we used our senses - we see them in a way that's "outside the box" for us. We first noticed it with light. Light isn't really here, or there, or anywhere. It's not a particle, like we thought. We started to classify it as a wave, but then we noticed it wasn't really a wave either.
                              It seems to... Well, it seems it doesn't exist! But that's absurd, light IS real! It's how your monitor is transmitting my words into your eyes now! Then we noticed other things - scary things, all things are essentially made of matter and matter is made ultimately of atoms, but what are atoms? They are a conglomeration of proton, neutron, and electrons. We call these elementary particles.
                              So what are they made of?
                              Actually, that's the point! We call them elementary particles because they cannot be broken down further. They are made of nothing and yet they make everything. Further, we've noticed that they seem to "POP" in and out of existence at random! This is called quantum foam.
                              So we're made of stuff that's not stuff and we're here but not here. Now try an experiment for me. Find a mirror, look in it and say your name. Say it over and over again for me. After a few minutes you'll notice something strange, two things actually, your name and your face seem odd to you. Your name is just a collection of syllables people utter when they refer to you, it's not really you. Also, your face is just a face - it's your face, but it could be anyone's face.
                              This is because the brain develops an identity for itself. It holds onto this frail electrical image of itself until its shattered by a stimulus. This is easy to replicate, you just did, at home or in a lab. You're just walking matter that doesn't really exist using an identity that doesn't really exist either. You're sitting on a chair that's not really there and you're reading words that aren't real. Now tell me, if you can't be sure of your existence, how can you be sure of God's? SamIam
