  • New curch anime: are the flaggelation scenes too explicit?

Been watching the work-in-progress anime: 7 Facts About Jesus (Working Title).

The dead sea scrolls episode is great, but when it comes to the Flagelation episode, I worry that the wrong kind of people might find it "interesting", for the wrong kind of reasons. I mean, kudos to the animators for such an expert depiction of fluid dynamics - I have no idea where they learned to do that. Technically, it's great. And the sounds effects and voice acting is flawless. I think it's too heavy on the grunting though, for the same reason.

Can anything that shows the world the Great Truths of the Bible be too explicit?

Yes, there may be those who express untoward interest in our loin-cloth wearing Savior suffering under the scourge of whips. But people have been misusing Jesus for their own purposes since His story began to be told.

No matter how disturbing, we here at must never shy away from the unvarnished, un-expunged, uncompromising reality of the Bible.

Let's face it, there is a lot of content in its sacred pages that can be hard to present or explain to young children. But we know how important it is to train up a child right from an early age. If children can see how painful and gruesome Jesus' injuries were, they will fully understand how sinful they are because it required such bloodletting to save them.

Please ignore the banned sinner above, since he cannot reply. In the meanwhile, i have to announce that we hava a better anime that kids can watch too: it's called Castlevania. A church attendant of the one that i do services reccomended me the anime, claiming that it was one of the best Christian-themed TV show. There is only one downside: it's a Leftflix exclusive. I guess that i won't watch it, but i'm pretty sure that it can help people being led to Christ.

In the bigger picture, why did the Romans whip poor Jesus? Yes, he had whipped some Jews. They were sinning. Where was the balance of justice?

According to so-called scholars, it was not a practice of Romans to whip people before putting them up on crosses. So, where were the Jew lawyers that are everywhere today?

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.
