    Question

Since you people are so full of yourselves and quote the KJV 1611 all the time, I figured I would have a look-see.
I have found something interesting, and I would like some answers from you know it alls godly peeps.

    The line goes:
Psa 81:9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
From what I gather, your god is not saying you can't worship anyone else.... just no strange god.

    Also:
Exd 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name [is] Jealous, [is] a jealous God:
So you can't worship any other god? But he just said you couldn't worship a strange god.... now he is changing his mind and saying none at all???
HOWEVER.... He never actually said there WERE no other gods.... just that you weren't allowed to worship them. Does that mean he is NOT the only god? There are others but in order to go to HIS particular "kingdom" you have to worship him and only him? So if I worship, say, Mithras, then I won't go to HIS (your god) kingdom, but I will still go wherever Mithras wants me to go.... I think I am beginning to see....

This is exactly why women are told to be quiet and learn from men.

"Strange" means "foreign", which would be all false gods(i.e. not The One True God) of foreign peoples. Either way your logic is flawed. You just basically said that if a person is lactose intolerant that milk will make them sick or all dairy products will make them sick, but not both. I understand your a less than intelligent mind may not comprehend what I've posted, but give it time.

Anything worshipped is a god (note the lower case "g"). But those are false gods and not the God. And because Mithra is a false god there is no going to "Mithra's realm" unless Mithra is some demon who will burn beside you in Hell

Why don't you give it a try, BG?

From now on, worship Set or Anubis or Zues or Shiva and see if you get into Heaven. Who knows, it might work!!!!

Exactly. Most of the times when people think they have found a contradiction, it is because they are too lazy to look up words in the dictionary.

        Strange (strange):
        • Belonging to another country; foreign.
        "To seek strange strands." Chaucer.
One of the strange queen's lords. Shak.
I do not contemn the knowledge of strange and divers tongues. Ascham.
        • Of or pertaining to others; not one's own; not pertaining to one's self; not domestic.
So she, impatient her own faults to see, Turns from herself, and in strange things delights. Sir J. Davies.
Bama_Girl, if you are confused about what the words in the Bible mean, please consult the Bible Dictionary. Or better yet, ask your father or husband to do it for you and explain it to you.

Upon request I will cite scripture for all these facts in God's Holy Word.

Possibly without meaning to you have underlined the reason why we cling to tthe KJV...
In the same way various editors and abusers have tried to alter the bible so it fits their little models of what is acceptable perversions, you have sought to apply your own modern contextual grasp of a word and apply it to the ancient intent laid down in the KJV,

As many will tell you , strange had a multiple meaning, none of which really reflected the modern useage in terms of applying it to anything with a sense of oddness.

Strane meant foreignm alien , belongiing to -or stemming from another place,
it also meant 'on the outside, seperated, external too , and extraneuos.

That is where you need focus your atttetion. The words of the KJV are aimed at those who have entered a covenant with God. It is in terms of that covenant that the word you query applies.

Thus , the quote you flag up clearly states that no-one of a covenant with the true God should embrace, seek or cling too any God that is extraneous to that Covenant..
That clearly means ANY other pretender seeking to be a socalled God.

You could also take into account that at the time the words were handed down most races were somewhat tribal, and similarly , their socalled Gods were localised to the area they inhabited or dominated as a tribal entity.
          Thus the words clearly indicate,
'there is a real God here , for those of this place, these people, do not go getting involved with any adopted 'wannabe godlet' that is reallly just a localised fetish and alien to you ..

Simply put, it's just Good's way of stating
'hey, the job's taken, move along faker....'
