Sheppard's killers were not truly "murderers". He was intentionally trying to turn them away from God, and have them sent to Hell with him. While the sodomite was brought to God's justice his victims were persecuted and discriminated against in the court.

The fact that anyone in this world could even think like this makes me sick. The latest victims of Matthew Sheppard are an entire class of students whose teacher wanted them to act out "The Laramie Project", a play about Matthew Sheppard. Fortunately the teacher was quickly fired (for completely unrelated reasons):

The motive behind Shepard's "murder" is irrelevant. He was a drug addict with AIDS, and his own noxious lifestyle would have killed him years ago even if he hadn't tried to rape Mr. McKinney and Mr. Henderson. He signed his own death warrant the day he decided to become a homosexual.

The only thing I don't like about Congresswoman's Foxx "taking on" this (important) issue is that the memory of the whole thing brings a lot of pain to the families of the young boys who were railroaded into jail for this.
