I went to a silent protest of them tonight. They decided to show up and protest that The Laramie Project is being performed this weekend. A counter protest was formed as well. They just stood across the street from us with their little signs that say things like "Matt is in hell," "God hates fags/America/you," "God is your enemy," and the like. I was hoping for one of them to get on his bullhorn and start yelling at us, but, nope. They didn't say a word to us. There were 200+ people at the silent anti-Westboro protest with me (including, I kid you not, a guy dressed up as a gay, black(negro) Jesus).

It was fun, but I was hoping for a little more crazy out of them. Maybe LBC can make up for it, right? You can satisify my crazy quota for the day, can't you?

See, I always kinda wondered "How do they get the money to go around and do all these crazy protests all over the place?" I found out tonight.
It seems that inbred nuts like them like to sue. From what I've heard, several of the Westboro idiots are also lawyers (as if I need another reason to hate lawyers). What they like to do is piss people off enough that they go over and confront one of them and they sue.
What a great way to make money, huh! Just piss people off and sue them when they respond.
Now that I think about it, I wonder how Landover got the money to build their enormous facility....

I admire Westboro. Their priorities are slightly off, and they don't love God's own party - the Republican Party - enough, but otherwise I agree with them most of the time. They read the Bible more literally than almost anyone outside of Freehold.

I especially admire Sister Shirley Phelps. She gives great interviews, almost on a par with our own Pastors Fred and Harry.

Several of his kids are lawyers, and they do indeed provoke fights, then sue. From what I understand, however, they're going to have to find another cash cow soon, as more and more judges are throwing their suits out of court, and some are even fining them for frivolous litigation and fraud. Of course, they claim this is "religious persecution."
