    Where the worthwhile worship

Hey ya'll! I'm looking for a new church home, and was hoping I'd have the opportunity to ask you about your statement "Where the Worthwhile Worship".
Am I worthwhile? What is worth your while?

    Thank you.

I respectfully ask if you have a scripture reference to that, sir, if Jesus cared more for the money or for a grateful heart.

        That's easy Friend:

        Leviticus 27:32
And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

        Malachi 3:8
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
        Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Sounds to me like you are mocking our Church. What is your agenda here? Are you one of those folk who come here to see if you can identify some fallacy in our beliefs?

Leave now if you don't like it here. We certainly don't need any doubters fouling up our Godly forum.

Jesus cares more for the grateful heart, of course, but how do you show that your heart is grateful? The poor widow gave everything she had -- not what she could spare, not what was convenient, but all her living. If you were comparing yourself to her, are you prepared to do the same?

Here's what the New Testament says about tithing:

            II Corinthians 9
            6 But this
I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

If you are only giving because you feel like you have to, then you aren't saved. If you cheap out, don't expect any favors from God.

Therefore, give generously and cheerfully! God will repay you several times over (see below).

8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

God will make sure you have everything you need.

9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousnessold

When deciding how much to tithe, don't worry about your own needs. God will not only make sure your needs are met, but you will be repaid severalfold.

That winking emoticon appears in the original text of the KJV. God is letting you know he's got you covered. However, if you are cheaping out on your tithing, it is proof that you don't trust God.
