Plagiarism! False Baptist Steals Promotion Idea from Landover

For years, Landover Baptist Church has offered a Free Playstation to any unsaved child who wants to meet Jesus. Now, Evangelical Baptist Ronnie Hill has stolen the idea, with just a slight twist . . . How about a new car?

    No, really.

A year ago, Ronnie Hill of Fort Worth, Texas, started a website.

At “threeminutestory.com”, visitors can listen to a gospel message a mere three minutes in length, presented by Hill. Following this, they may register to win a shiny new "Chrystler"!

Carol Gray, a Methodist from Alpharetta, Georgia, listened to Hill’s message. Upon hearing his words, Gray prayed with all her heart . . . “God, grant me this Chrysler 300 LX!” After all, her husband drove a worn-out 1986 Cadillac, what some might call a “Pimpmobile”, which surely brought a daily flood of mockery in her small Georgia town.

10,300 others felt the Love of Rich Corinthian Leather well up inside them as they listened to Hill’s plea for their souls. 3,200 of them even recorded and uploaded their own profession of faith in Jesus Chrystler, hoping to improve their chances of winning this glorious automobile.

Gray didn’t record any such profession. No, her prayer must have been sufficient, for even though over 10,000 people from all 50 states and 29 countries entered, she won!

Gray’s reaction to the news? “I thought this was someone talking crazy and was concerned that he knew my name, so in my fright I hung up on him!” Indeed, I know I find it disturbing when someone calling my telephone number knows my name. How could he know? Creepy!

Gray finally stayed on the line with Hill long enough to comprehend that she’d won a Brand New Car. “God dropped this car right into my lap,” she said. “What an awesome provider and awesome answer to prayer! I have never met Pastor Hill, and none of my immediate family were in any way involved with this promotion. The drawing was entirely random!”

Hill arranged to present the new car following worship services at Cumming First Baptist on Jan. 25 because the church had vigorously promoted the Internet evangelism campaign locally, distributing more than 7,000 website cards at a free face-painting booth during the 10-day Cumming Country Fair & Festival and including the cards in Halloween treat bags containing candy and Gospel tracts.

Gray was encouraged to enter the online drawing by her son-in-law, Tracy, who is a deacon at the church, who says the drawing was absolutely not fixed.

Want to win a free car? Hill’s at it again this year. Or try Landover’s PS3 promotion, still going, and bringing people to Christ, not Chrysler.

Who says there’s nothing in it for you, friend?

Letters of C&D have been sent to the offenders, they have. Failing that writs will be issued before the relevant bench in the competent jurisdiction.

Bubchiks someone's gonna be deposed here, and it's not your Lord Yeshua for a change!
