    Preachers, Not LBC, are Suffering

I can't tell you how many articles appear each year in the Christian press lamenting how hard preachers work and how difficult it is to be a preacher. They have so many troubled church members, fund raising, hiring staff, etc etc. Meanwhile, Landover Baptist preachers thrive. They raise money, increase membership and race about in city in their Cadilac Escalades saving souls with a sense of urgency.

What are other churches doing wrong that their preachers are so bedraggled and unhappy? I think is has to do with management. Pastor Zeke lays out clearly the goals and objectives at Landover Baptist. Sin is the enemy. It can be defeated with money and church growth. Sundays people flock to hear Pastor Zeke condemn sin.

Jesus smiles at the success of Landover Baptist. You can bet He could care less about those whinny other preachers and their problems.

I threw up a little in my mouth while reading your post, Mayor Joe Hold. I can't imagine a so-called man of God who despises our Lord Jesus Christ so much that he would complain about serving Him. Our only consolation are the words Jesus spoke to us in Revelation 3:16:
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Agreed, I would say to other Churches this is definitely a You problem. Perhaps if they put in more effort, prayed a little longer, saved for Jesus a little harder they would see some improvement. I hate when people turn their failings back onto the Christian faith.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

The problem other churches have is that those in the pews are told their pastor/priest is a shoulder to cry on. Church members think if they have a problem in their lives they are supposed to call their clergy for comfort. Naturally, pastors/priests are called every day of the week and at all hours of the night. This is nonsense.

At Landover Baptist pastors are not a shoulder to cry on. Every Sunday Pastor Zeke reminds us our problems happen because, as Dr. Toole points out, of our own sin. Stop the sin and our lives will get better. There is no need to call a pastor when we already know what we will hear from him. This has two advantages, it saves souls from sin and better manages the time of our pastors.

Exactly. The ONLY reason to call a pastor is to order more offering envelopes.

But is "sin" the same at all times? We keep the law but laws change.

Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work

If laws are to guide us, and we keep the law, then what was "wrong" once may be "right" now. In which case, the "sin" has lapsed.

Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

For those who keep the law, what laws state to be the case rules that what may have been "sins" once are not "sin" now.
Proverbs 20:23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.

Amen, dear Brother Lee! I could be wrong — although I highly doubt it — but something tells me that Mr. Fag's middle name is "Hopeless"!

Mr. Fag should understand nobody loves him more than True Christians. Imagine how many fagg*ts would have been saved from the AIDS curse if they had simply kept it in their pants like we prayed and hoped and in some cases forcibly prevented them from doing. The liberals and atheists meanwhile let the filthy, infected seed spread far and wide and deep.
