Why Other Christian Churches and Leaders Fail

While Landover Baptist remains at the top of the Christian hierarchy, we can learn from churches that fail. One can read every day about a church leader who falls to the desires of a harlot. Following this the church he led often fails.

The link below tries to explain what happens to pastors that causes them to fall. It is all the usual, the pastor is lonely, he is unappreciated, his wife does not understand the demands on him, etc. etc. Our pastors at Landover Baptist simply do not have these problems. Pastor Zeke rails against sin and all of us who hear him, including his staff of pastors, take heed.

Another problem not mentioned in the link is what can be called "busybodies." These are church members to watch pastors come and go and watch the time they spend with various church members. Thankfully, we have found a way to deal with such busybodies in Landover Baptist. Yes, there are those to watch Pastor Zeke's fine home but whatever mischief they cause is quickly put to rest by church officials.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I always find it suspect when I hear about other Churches whose Leader's "fall" - by which they mean their pants "fall" and they commit vile acts of s*xual defilement. This could never happen in a real Church with a real Jesus and a real Holy Prepuce. Just look at LBC - our record is 100% clean. Yes, perhaps some members have had sordid pasts - not looking at anyone in particular - but once they accept the hand of Jesus, fully up to the forearm, they are changed for the better and for good.

Holiness is compromised. The enemy attempts to draw us away from God’s holy standard. I vividly remember a story of a young boy who kept falling out of his bed. He finally asked his mother why he kept falling. She wisely answered, “It’s because you don’t stay far enough in.” In the same way, many of us fall back into sin because we don’t get far enough into God’s framework of safety and protection via holiness. In the words of Isaac Watts, “True Christianity, where it reigns in the heart, will make itself appear in the purity of life.”
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.
