Brothers and Sisters,
The Lord has put this on my heart lately and I want to share this with you.
It troubles me that in these end times, just before the Dawn of the Rapture (even so come quickly Lord Jesus) that there is a real lack of true enthusiasm amongst Christians. There are so many salad-bar people out there who call themselves "Christians", but who haven't spent even $1,000 on Chick tracts this year! Whatever happened to the ubiquity of Christianity, where every store clerk would wish you a joyful Sunday, and say "Merry Christmas", even in July? Whatever happened to the Christians who would take the kids on a mission trip to the neighborhood, going door to door to preach the Love of Jesus, condemning sin wherever they saw it?
No, we've become too much of a feel-good society. It's a sad day in America when "Christians" care more about football and reality shows than they do about what sins their neighbors might be committing. Friends, being an evangelical is about more than just a smug sense of superiority.
It's about rummaging through the hidden cracks in your friends' and neighbors' lives in an attempt to find something that just might be an affront to God. It's about holding each other accountable for the things that the secular world calls "private business", but that we True Christians(tm) call brotherly love. It's about confronting our brothers and sisters with Christian Love(tm), whether that means telling them over the phone that we overheard that they didn't end their prayers in "In Jesus' Precious Name" or mentioning during the "Announcements" in the Sunday Service that the shameworthy Ms. Shuttlesworth kissed her date goodnight after Christmas dinner.
It's about spending time with complete strangers, forcibly telling them that their every problem can be solved by the power of Jesus, despite what they call "extenuating circumstances".
It's about crying "hate crime" and "discrimination" when we are denied the American Right to post the 10 Commandments and any other perfectly acceptable Bible verses on government property, when the Lord Jesus extols us to spread His Word to ALL LIVING CREATURES, regardless of whether it's a courtroom or a church.
It's about spending time with the tea-baggers, encouraging each other and engaging in good Christian fellowship with our members, sharing evangelism stories while plotting to overthrow the evil dictatorship that Chairman 0Bama is implementing.
It's about taking time out of our Bible studies to take the kids along to a good ol' fashioned picketing session at the closest abortion clinic to voice our True Christian Opinion(tm) of what the crying young harlots are doing with their lives, murdering a helpless group of cells that Jesus so delicately change from a bundle of snot-like goo into a glorious screaming baby that she can't afford and doesn't love enough to donate to a foster home. It's about drenching the vicious murderer with insults, breaking her to the point where she is receptive to receiving only the Love of Jesus and not the cheap love of Joe Schmoe at the bars.
Friends, join me today in making our voices heard. It's a difficult road, don't let anyone fool you. In today's America we will be labeled "haters" -- some of us, like the Godly Fred Phelps, will be persecuted. But isn't that what being Christian is all about? Like the Christians being fed to the lions in Christ's time, we will be fed to the "lions" of the ACLU. But it is our Godly DUTY to be evangelicals, spreading the message of Judgement and Love(tm) to our fellow citizens. It is important now, more than ever, to extol the virtues of True Christian Love that has gotten us so far.
So in your day-to-day life, let the love of Christ shine through you. Be a beacon of Light in the otherwise dark world. Keep an eye out for any perceived sin, and never let it go.
If you see an Obama sticker on the car in front of you, follow it until you can confront the driver as to why he supports Hitler and hates Israel and freedom.
If you see a visitor at Church withhold what you suspect to be his full tithe, immediately call him out in front of the flock, as Jesus commanded.
When you see your neighbors putting up a "Happy Holidays" sign, make a point to stop by, bringing Candy Canes (remember, upside down they are a "J" for "Jesus") and ask them why they support heathen religions who have so callously murdered Christians for millenia, and ask they they respect your Freedom of Religion by taking down their sign and putting up a manger scene.
When a store clerk hands you a dollar bill in change, make sure to point out that it says "In GOD we Trust", and ask congratulate them for being so happy to use the Lord's money. Then ask them to join you in Church.
