I have a few questions I'd like to bring up, if the members of the church will let me. Me, I do not follow the hard-line stances you follow - in fact I choose not to follow the Bible and if that means I will go to Hell, then so be it. That's my choice and I will accept the consequences, if there are any. Anyway, please allow me to continue.....
A number of people have stated in one way or another that America is God's favourite country and American English is the language of God. To quote Prude Danish from the "Is Denmark Evil?" forum, not being born American is not a sin "as long as you learn American, so you can read God's own word in the original language (the King James Authorized Version, 1611)".
I imagine that the King James version would not have been written originally in American given that King James was King of Scotland and this version was printed at least 100 years (if not more) before the United States was conceived (not necessarily as it is known today). It is also a translation from earlier Greek and Latin versions with some caveats (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_James_Bible - not the most trustworthy source, I know, but it quotes external sources).
Please can someone explain how American has become God's language thousands of years after the events in the bible took place, which was long before any form of English was spoken.
I also get the impression of a real sense of patriotism from some of your members, particularly those granted with the Real American award. Again, to quote from the "Is Denmark Evil?" forum, MarkHenry asks "What and who forbids anyone to be proud of their nation?" to which GOD=life responds with "God does".
My interpretation of this suggests there is a certain level of hypocrisy amongst church members. I am prepared to be corrected here but I get the impression that it is Godly and right to be a proud American but not to be proud of any other country - is that correct? If so, please can somebody justify this for me.
I thank you for taking the time to read my questions and look forward to hearing your responses.
