Conscience/Con-Science ?

Brothers and Sisters;

The Lord recently opened my eyes to the fact that the word "conscience" is actually the word "con-Science". What do you think of this?

Is this to mean that following one's personal conscience is a con of science to have us believe that our own judgement has any value? I used to believe that having a conscience was good enough to guide me through life and to be a good person. Now, I know that only God's Word is to be used to guide us and there is no such thing as a "good person."
