Hey, I have a serious question.

I've come across two versions in Genesis that didnt go well together:

GEN 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
GEN 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

GEN 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
GEN 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

This may not be from the Bible you all use, so the corresponding verses would be greatly appreciated also.

Could someone please tell me which one is right? the first appears to be saying that beasts inhabited the Earth before man, whilst the second appears to say that man came before beast.

    Answers are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advanced.

Re: Hey, I have a serious question.

Genesis 1 is more of an overview. Genesis 2 is a detailed look at more of what was happening on day 6.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Thank you for answering, however they both say two different things, how can an "overview" say something different to the "detailed" story?

Quite simply it doesn't. God called the beasts forth from the ground to be named. It's not saying they weren't already created.

If GOD wants to make some animals right there on the spot in front of Adam so he can name them, He will do. GOD doesn't need cute little picture books to show Adam when He can just as easily show him the real thing.
May the call of Jihad be forever outshined, outmatched, and outlasted by the The LORD's Crusade, to the end of eternity and the extinction of mortal flesh. Let those who march against it in His name be as giants - pure of heart, strong of body, honored, invulnerable. May those warriors be burning stars in the firmament of battle, angels of death on shining wings, bringing swift annihilation to the enemies of CHRIST. Amen.
