    New Assistant Youth Pastor

    PRAISE JESUS!

I am the new assistant youth pastor at my church, and I thank God for this wonderful opportunity to bring True Christianity™ to the youth! Its a great show of Jesus' love to see young men and women on fire for God!

To all of the True Christians™ on this Godly forum, thank you for your hand in guidance for pushing me forward. But most of all I thank the sweet baby Jesus for showing me the way!

The only down side is the youth pastor now is stepping down in a years time, which saddens my heart. He said he will train me next to him so that I may take over when he retires.
    Matthew 6:26
26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

Congratulations are in order, I am sure you will do a fine job but you have a lot of work ahead of you. Are you sure you have the time to commit to the learning needed for you to take on such an important position? You will need to spend hours on hours at the feet of the present youth Pastor?
Tell us what attributes you have that will make you the ideal youth leader and please, don't be modest.

Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Ah that brings back memories. I recall when I was promoted to assistant youth pastor here at LBC. I spent so many hours in training with Youth Pastor Bruce and his other assistant youth pastors that I could barely walk sometimes.

Good luck to you, Jake. I hope you've been doing plenty of squat thrusts.

        Re: New Assistant Youth Pastor

I am 100% willing to spend all the time necessary to learn and adapt to the task and situation at hand.

Since I'm younger, I can relate more so to the youth, being as I was them only 5 years ago. I feel that God has given me the proper leadership skills. I am confident but not to the point of arrogance. I'm caring to the point that I will listen and guide but not sugarcoat anything. I believe those are some of the attributes will make me a good youth pastor.

Pastor Zeke, I do that and more. I put my wife over my shoulders in a fireman's carry and squat with the extra 110lbs on me.

Excellent. And how about your knees? Are they in good shape? You'll be on your knees a lot over the next few months, believe me.

My knees are in pretty good shape, I try to take good care of myself. My body is a temple for God, therefore it should be taken care of, right?
