I do believe I said based, based upon the Golden Rule as the popular belief goes. And I am not a woman. I am not a Buddhist either, where you came to that conclusion is interesting but irrelevant. So guessing around in the dark is not exactly your strong suit.
And instinct cannot be ignored. Just because you can make someone with acrophobia climb a tree, or make someone with claustrophobia sit in a locked closet doesn't make those go away. Instincts are the base of all human emotion and action, its why you breath air without thinking. Or eat food when you hunger or drink when you thirst.

Re: Japs get their due!
You are wrong. Instinct is not inescapable and absolute. The Bible often goes against our instincts, for example, so we don't have to abide by our instincts.Originally posted by SpiritualAmerican View PostHuman instinct can definitely be wrong, but the problem is since you cannot remove it, many people abide by it. Instinct is inescapable and absolute, going against it is going against yourself and whoever created you, which depends on how you believe.
I know that "thrice" means three times, silly woman. What makes you think I didn't?And three wrongs, 1. I am not a teenager. 2. I am not a wiccan. 3. Thrice is the proper English for three times. Example: You hit a woman, I hit you thrice (three times) as hard. Proper English has since degraded but there are still many who understand it.
Anyway, what are you? a boodhist?
You are confusing the "golden rule" with the "law of threefold return." But never mind, that wasn't my point. And as a note, The Rule of Three is popularly believed by many Wiccans to be based upon Karma and even Christian Morality, i.e the Golden Rule or Matthew 7:12 if you prefer.

What are you then? A moon-worshiping wiccan?Originally posted by SpiritualAmerican View PostOnce again, where have I claimed to be a Christian? I haven't and I have said that twice on the minimum that I am not.
Yeah, of course, human instinct can impossibly be wrong when making moral decisions. How silly of me not to realize that! And following a moral compass would be incorrect, as a compass can be thrown off. I'm referring to human instinct, such situations would revolve around murder or rape and etc, etc.
Strike back "thrice?" Sounds like the law of threefold return to me. Again, I call wiccan.Such as you believe that a woman should make herself inferior and if she does wrong you should strike her justly, but no more than she deserves. In my instinctual response I would strike you thrice as hard for such action and many would support me, for an action such as striking a woman would stand directly against their instincts, their feelings.
Anyway, what you are saying is opposed to what God says in the Bible, and I will follow God's Word over the ramblings of a teenage witch anytime.

Re: Japs get their due!
This is not just my belief. It is the belief of everyone who believes in the Bible in its entirety. If you believe something different, then you are no Christian, because you ignore what Jesus said in Matthew 5:17-19. That's how it is.Originally posted by SpiritualAmerican View PostDisciple, again I state that this is your belief, your faith. You may share it with many others and many others in this country would most certainly agree with you that Christianity is the only true religion. And I do not gather knowledge or horde it, these are just records and tales of fancy from ages long since passed.
And morality is in the eye of the beholder, otherwise we would not have laws in our Nation. Or police to enforce them, we would be left to God's laws or anarchy. Human instinct drives the creation of laws, as things go further against it, more will you try to prevent it.
And again, Deuteronomy 29:19-20 states that we shouldn't follow our own moral compass. You can keep denying that, but then you're just denying the Words of God in the Bible. Read more about this here.
The laws of the nation are partially inspired by God's Law. Those that aren't are evil, secular attempts to corrupt America. After all, God says we should kill witches (Exodus 22:18). The American law says we shouldn't. If you, then, claim that American law is moral on this one, then you automatically claim that God's Law is immoral. How can you, then, call yourself a Christian?

Oh? And what proves this? Where is it that I am at fault and yet you are correct? The only groups of people in the world I can think of that refuse to even hear the other side's argument with anything beyond scorn are the Democratic Party and the Westboro Baptist Church.Originally posted by James Hutchins View PostWhat a pile of B.S. Re: Japs get their due!
You should only read the Bible. God advises against gathering knowledge:Originally posted by SpiritualAmerican View PostI call myself spiritual, I call myself a reader and a collector of tomes.
Ecclesiastes 1:16-18:
I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.
And I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to know madness and folly: I perceived that this also is vexation of spirit.
For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
That is complete nonsense. God does not accept us to follow our own morality instead of the Law of the Bible:Morality is set in the eye of the beholder, just as faith is.
Deuteronomy 29:19-20:
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Additionally, neither is faith in the eye of the beholder. Christianity is the only acceptable religion:
2 John 1:9-11:
Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
