    I have a question

Hello all! Sorry for my long departure from you all; God had plans for me.

But, I am curious about something, and my Church I attend now could not give me a fulfilling answer. -Trust me, if it were my choice we would be at a different Church, but my husband chose the one we attend-

So, I turn to my brothers and sisters in faith, and ask; is it okay to get a dog?
My husband wants a siberian husky, and, I am worried how it will effect my relationship with my Lord. How does He view pets?

I am in dire need of an answer, so please help me.

I breed working and sporting dogs, a Siberian is a working dog, but why does he want a Siberian? Do you live somewhere that you need a sled pulled?

The Bible does speak derogatorily about dogs, but animals are on this earth for us to use. So the pointing dogs are hunters and the Rottweilers are trained protection dogs, although I'm thinking of expanding into other breeds.

We live in Iowa, and, besides yard work, we don't have much to be pulled. I'm not quite sure why he requested a Siberian, but, I, as a good wife, did not question him.

        Re: I have a question

Having a dog does not necessarily conflict with God's Word. However, I am concerned about your reasons for wanting a dog, since you do not need it for labor. Before I became a True Christian(tm) and became more selective about the company I keep, I knew several fornicative couples, living in sin, who had pets because they "didn't want children."

I have to ask, do you want a dog so that it will be easier to excuse your shirking of your womanly responsibilities to your husband, and to God? Here is some Scripture for you to think about:

        I Timothy 2:13-15
For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

The Bible does not say "she shall be saved in having a dog." If you are serious about your walk with Christ, I encourage you to give your husband (and God) sons. Daughters are okay too.
        II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J.
