It's a shame you can't keep up with the prominent and important threads on this forum.

This discussion of Harold Camping's wingnuttery has been ongoing for over a month.

No True Christian™ would participate in date-setting. Camping is just trying to get people to donate all their worldly possessions to his little cult.

And yes, according to his billboards, the Rapture is May 21, 2011 (this year, not last year) and end of the world October 21, 2011. Of course, he's predicted and been wrong before!

Of course, he's "sure" this time. I can't wait to hear his explanation on May 22!

Personally I am 100% sure he is wrong,after all he is basing his theory on a collection of fairy tales, but that does not change the fact then some people out there believe him and may be out and about on the day causing a hazard to others. So will I be safe on the roads if I get home by 08:00 BST or should I stay in a hotel till noon on the 22nd?

If you are concerned that Harold Camping's insane followers, distraught over not being Raptured, will try to bring about the end of the world through violence, the release of an airborne virus, or other means, then I suggest you find an underground bunker and spend the next six months in it.

For your own safety, I recommend cutting off Internet access. Otherwise, they could find you.

Will all the "good" people be taken at once, if that is the case it would be on two different days depending on which time zone the raptie is in.

Or will the "good" people betaken at a certain time of day local time, moving round the globe, taking a total of 24 hours to actually happen, if that is the case what time of day would it be? Would it take into account daylight saving?

Noon in Bethlehem and Noon in Freehold do not occur at the same time, Noon moves across the world with the sun, so clearly in God's Eyestalks there are time zones, maybe different ones to those in common use but there is still clearly a difference in time depending on where you are in the world.

To reference you Collected fairy tales on this point:

John 11:9-10: Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world. But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.

Day is clearly the time of light in your book and the time of light, thus the day, occurs at different time across the world.

So I ask again, when will the rapture occur, will it move across the world as the sun does or will it be a global instantaneous event?

I'm afraid I can't really answer that question. You see, my congregation is amillenialist and preterist (at least partial preterist, most are full preterist), just like all Christian Reconstructionists. The Rapture is a belief of premillenialists, most typically pre-tribulational premillenialists (or dispensationalists). Also known as fluffy bunnies.

It's also a load of pop-culture hogwash, if you ask me. The return of Jesus will come when He sees that we humans have established His Kingdom on Earth and that we are ready for Him to come rule us with His Iron Fist of Glory! The dispensationalists just want Jesus to come snatch them up to Heaven without them having to die, or even to work hard against sin in this life. They want it the easy way. They want to be "tolerant" of sinners and followers of false religions, instead of working toward His Coming.

Have you ever read R. J. Rushdoony? Gary DeMar, maybe? How about Mike Huckabee?

Huck knows to play the Rapture nonsense to get the votes from the fluffy bunnies, so he can help establish a Christian theocracy!

Maybe I would, not sure why I would be in such a congregation in the first place. But surely one of his "friends" would have a quiet word in his shell like and let him know, that is not being tactless.
