Of course its pure blood! Believe it or not, the "strange names" you talk of are quite common. Lets see...my neighbors have two boys named Draven and Shadow, another woman I know has five kids named Rowan, Ash, Maple, Autumn, and Willow.

All that proves is that your town is populated entirely by blood-drinking goths who get all of their baby names from their book of shadows, or maybe from here.
