Friends, I'm a big fan of Dr. Laura Schlesinger, and as a former Jew, I must confess my heart swells with pride every time I hear this little Jewish lady dishing out a daily dose of reality to America's sinners.
That said, I'm a little conflicted about her latest video, which I think contains some good and some bad:
As you can see, she starts out by saying a father should put a stop to the relationship his 29 year old daughter is having with a 51 year old man. That is very strange advice!
If I had a 29 year old daughter who was unmarried, I'd be moving Heaven and Earth to get her hitched and out of the home! Wouldn't you agree with me that this father ought to be sitting down with that fellow and, instead of telling him to leave his daughter alone, sincerely offering to let the gentleman out of his dowry obligation in order to hasten the nuptials?
So yeah, that part of the video doesn't make much sense to me, but if you'll fast forward to the 1:15 mark, the good doctor begins to make a whole lot of sense: She says she liked the old days, because back in the old days, there was no date rape. Why? Because in the old days, women didn't go home with men, get drunk, take their clothes off, and then go, "Oops!"
This is a powerful message which I think young females need to hear! I propose we start some type of program to raise awareness about date rape and teach girls and young women that behaving like drunken whores puts them at risk for potentially losing control and manipulating some poor guy into a date rape situation.
Does anybody at Landover have any inside connections with Dr. Laura's people? If not, I think I can use my contacts in the secret Jewish network to get a hold of her and ask whether she'd be interested in helping us get the word out.
