I bet that if people went around preaching that stones and rocks were gods in a thousand year their would be a religion about stones and rocks and christianity would be outlawed and would face the same kind of discrimination that jews have to face. its not about the truth its about timing i mean if christianity has been preached for hundreds of years then of course people would convert to it.
