    Forgiveness?

I am in need of advice from other true Christians here. My wife came home a little early and caught me instructing the babysitter in the proper way to shower herself. Well, even after I told my wife that there are no words to describe how sorry I was to have been caught, she still won't forgive me. I am at a loss as to what more I can do to make things right. I am considering beating her until she forgives me, but first I thought I would run it by others. Advice?

    Re: Forgiveness?

Your first problem was apologizing and admitting some kind of guilt on your part. All you were doing was instructing this girl. Who knows, she might be slow. If your wife keeps going on about it you need to convince her that it was the babysitter's fault. You are innocent.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

      Re: Forgiveness?

I am so sorry to hear of your woes.
      Romans 1:29-32
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them
      1 Timothy 5:12-13
12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith.
13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

I could go on and even talk about what God thinks of women who speak when not spoken to but I think you well know the verse.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Mr. Etheldreda has helped out wayward hitch-hikers who have no place to call home. They live such dirty lives they forget how to wash themselves. As he instructs them in the necessary duties of hygiene, he delivers the Gospel message as well. Many a young people have been converted in our home and on the road thanks to Mr. Etheldreda's tenacity in helping the most profoundly dirty and skanky boys and girls see and experience the Love of Jesus.

I can't help but wonder if your wife is projecting her insecurities? Does she have something to hide herself?
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! First thing: why does the babysitter need to shower on the job? in my day babysitting wasn't that strenuous. Even if you're baking cookies or something with the child you just wash the flour off your hands and everythings fine from there. Yes you can get PlayDough stuck in your hair but again No Shower, you just comb it out.

To get the stench of babies off of them. I suppose a bleach with lye wipe down would work too.
When I had my first daughters, they'd come home from babysitting bring with her the foulest of odors. Hair crusty and 'sparkled filled' from God knows what, knees and thighs burned from playing on the floor, bite marks all over and so on. My girls would come home and I'd spend hours scrubbing them clean. I now insist they come home as clean as they leave. Most just share a high pressure hose at the 'U-Car Wash' place for $.75

Do they still pay so much? My daughters 'free lanced' in town and on a good night brought in over $1,000

Well I don't want to get into making family members speculate about each other but I will say in my day I got $2 an hour for babysitting plus snacks and there was no glitter involved. If the snacks weren't good youd take another job and put that family at the bottom of the list. This was in the 90's though.

Perhaps your daughters charged by the child, and were looking after 500 kids at once or something? Doesn't sound very safe but who am I to say.

Sally Ann, you ask why the babysitter needed a shower? Well, when I came home she was making our bed and asked if I could help her stretch the tight fitting sheet on our bed. Everytime we would get one corner, another would pop off, so both of us got on the bed to hold the sheet in place and somehow it led to her needing a shower. Here's the real annoying part, after we finally accomplised the task of getting the sheet exactly right, we noticed a giant blotch of some sort right in the middle! The sheet was light blue, but the blotch was darker blue and about the size of a sixteen inch pizza. So after all that work we had to start all over again!
