I am having a problem with the phrase "Accept Jesus"

I had never thought of this before, surprisingly enough. With Jesus being Perfect, what is there about this needing to simply "accept" the King of Kings, The Christ, as though He were all warty or pimply or flatulent or something?

"Accept" is what you do when they don't give you enough Food Stamps in order to keep alive, but if your stomach padding slips out, no matter how often you say "Si! Si! Is bueno!" well, no matter what you say or how loud you scream, well, Sister, that is darn well all you're going to git! So you might just as well just accept it! So what is it with this "accept" thing when applied to His Perfection?!

Perhaps I'm missing something here and one of you Men will be kind enough to enlighten me.

Re: I am having a problem with the phrase "Accept Jesus"

    Dear Sister:

It's just more fluffy-bunny false Christianity, although it's less offensive than presuming to "make" Jesus the Lord of our lives. How can anyone "make" Almighty God anything?

The Bible clearly says that it is for God to accept us, not the other way around:

Ecc 9:7 Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.

2Sa 24:23 All these [things] did Araunah, [as] a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Sister Sue, I fear you are confusing the false Christian concept of "tolerance" with the true meaning of acceptance. As a female, for example, you are commanded by God to accept your lot in life as a servant of men. That doesn't mean that you grumble or secretly despise your duties. God wants you to actually BECOME the subservient baby machine that He created you and cursed you for.

You don't have to tolerate being a female. Jesus wants you to embrace it!
      Who Will Jesus Damn?

Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Hypocrites (Matthew 24:51), The Unforgiving (Mark 11:26), Homosexuals (Romans 1:26, 27), Fornicators (Romans 1:29), The Wicked (Romans 1:29), The Covetous (Romans 1:29), The Malicious (Romans 1:29), The Envious (Romans 1:29), Murderers (Romans 1:29), The Deceitful (Romans 1:29), Backbiters (Romans 1:30), Haters of God (Romans 1:30), The Despiteful (Romans 1:30), The Proud (Romans 1:30), Boasters (Romans 1:30), Inventors of evil (Romans 1:30), Disobedient to parents (Romans 1:30), Covenant breakers (Romans 1:31), The Unmerciful (Romans 1:31), The Implacable (Romans 1:31), The Unrighteous (1Corinthians 6:9), Idolaters (1Corinthians 6:9), Adulterers (1Corinthians 6:9), The Effeminate (1Corinthians 6:9), Thieves (1Corinthians 6:10), Drunkards (1Corinthians 6:10), Reviler (1Corinthians 6:10), Extortioners (1Corinthians 6:10), The Fearful (Revelation 21:8), The Unbelieving (Revelation 21:8), The Abominable (Revelation 21:8), Whoremongers (Revelation 21:8), Sorcerers (Revelation 21:8), All Liars (Revelation 21:8)
