Bring God Back In - A Lamentation for Connecticut, A Plea for America

I wanted to share my son Connor's lamentation which was tearfully read during this past Sunday evening's service by young Timmy Brice Barnett of The Young Trumpeters here at the Ft. Worth Main Sanctuary. Over 500 were in attendance.

A candle light vigil and wonderful prayer service followed my personal plea for a slumbering America to wake up and smell the coffee of God's righteousness in a national revival.

Because remember, God can do an EVEN BETTER job of stopping the school shooters than our church members can with their best assault rifles and underground bunkers filled with ammo.

A Lamentation for Sandy Hook Elementary School - December 14th, 2012

    by Connor Lowman

God killed our children in Connecticut today. He did so to show us the error of our way.

Looking away while the gunman came near, God said: "They don't want me there, so I will stay here."

So God looked away; from the school, and from all the classrooms he looked away; "That is fair" God said, "since to Me they no more pray."

"Pow," "Bam," the shots rang out, clipping the young ones (who with screams declared): "Let us out!!!!!!!!!"

Many a frightened child, their teachers in tears; hiding in closets and behind locked doors that will not ease their fears.

Little ones running for their lives, jumping behind tables and desks; as they are picked off by God's Messenger Adam Lanza like pests.

"Please, God, no!!!", they scream, hoping above all hope for a way out from the God they derided; but God had other plans--their fate has been decided.

Our God sent them to the cemetery; He showed us what happens when you take the Bible out of the library.

And now, lights and sirens fill the air, with sobbing and tears and endless moans of despair.

But we are no less deserving of the punishment we have earned; God murdered our children so our souls won't be burned.

No more futures for 26 people, 20 of them children, although this too was an act of love, since now we can bring God back in and look to a home in the clouds above.

So with mourning and ministering and the passing of time, let us reach out our hands and maybe God's light will once again shine.

Maybe that glow from the city set on the hill will once again be Jesus as we kneel to His Will.

    Amen.

Why, that is the Godliest, beautifulest poem I have ever read. Your son was touched by the Spirit when he wrote those words. In fact, I think it's safe to say that He wrote those words.

It's so moving to me, that I'm going to quote it again in this post. Right here and now!

Oh wow, Pastor Lowman, that is just so inspiring!

What so many people fail to understand is that they have those little children on loan from God. Those little children didn't "belong" to the parents, they don't "own" the child. They are responsible for raising a child to fear and obey the LORD (Ecclesiastes 12:13). If they've done their job well, they should have no regrets. Everyone else should be grateful that the LORD chose to send them a message before it's too late for them.

Your son, Master Lowman's poem, is a good wake-up call for all Americans.
        Thank you for sharing.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

It's called metaphor, you God-mocking jackanape. How you can even aspire to pick apart that fine piece of poetry is beyond belief, let alone question its Divine inspiration.

When he says "stay here" he means choose not to act.

When he says "look away" he means [I]choose not to act[I].

We don't interpret the Bible, you swine, that's what poetry is for!

Re: Bring God Back In - A Lamentation for Connecticut, A Plea for America

Normally I don’t care much for poetry but this was a very nice little piece. I particular, I liked the part:

"Please, God, no!!!", they scream, hoping above all hope for a way out from the God they derided; but God had other plans--their fate has been decided.
This is symptomatic for people that hate God. Even if they don’t even believe in Him, they still beg Him for mercy when it suites their selfish needs. I think you hear a lot of whining like this in hell, the second when the people sent there realize it’s for real. But then it’s too late…
            Stop whining
(1 Thessalonians 5:18) - In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
(1 Corinthians 10:10) - Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer
(Psalm 106:25) - But murmured in their tents, And hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD
(Ephesians 4:29) - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers
