I have to agree that generalizing is a negative thing to do. Everyone has good and bad in them, no matter how well you practice you faith, read your Bible and follow God's laws, you still make mistakes.
As Alexander Pope said, "To err is human; to forgive, divine."
Generalization, whether in a positive light or negative, is a dangerous path to tread. There is forever and always the chance of an "exemption", thereby proving your words false.
