Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers of Landover, and to my own mother, who turns 100 next month. I attribute her longevity to the fact that I've been beating her regularly since I turned eleven. It keeps her lively and on her toes.
I'd wish my Roman Cathoholic mother a happy Mother's Day, but as we all know, she and my father were killed in a tragic thresher accident in downtown Chicago when I was five.
I suppose I should be grateful to her for dying; had she not, I'd not have been raised in a Christian orphanage and learned about Jesus, instead of praying to Mary, who had a little Lamb and thought that made her Queen of Heaven.
