What kinda message is this to send out to people?

Are you guys serious about recruiting people to Christ, or are you trying to push them away?

Imagine a seeker comes to your website at LBC- an atheist, agnostic, mormon, muslim, jew, etc.

He looks at the top of the page, and is told that he's not welcome. Then he goes and has a look at some of the threads here and sees all the name calling and mockery of African-Americans, Jews and gays. You can be sure that he or she will want to run as far from LBC as possible, and as far from Christianity.

The Lord Almighty declared:

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28.

Are you going to continue to turn your backs on those who are weary and burdened with sin? Sure seems like it.

It never ceases to amaze us the number of so-called "Christians" ask us this question. If they would only blow the dust off of their Bibles and put their noses into the 16th Chapter of Mark, they would find that Jesus commands us to evangelize the world! He didn't say, "find a comfortable pew each Sunday morning and cross your fingers in hopes that some unsaved piece of human refuse will walk through the doors of your church." No, he said, ""Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel." That word, "go" there is a verb. And for those of you illiterate, misguided Christians who allow unsaved people through the doors of your church each Sunday morning, a verb is an "action word," and "go" means "GO!" as in "leave," or "SCRAM!" It doesn't mean, sit on your hiney! The only place for evangelism is outside the confines of the Lord's four-walled holy dwelling place. God's home is a place for True Christians™ to fellowship. Allowing an unsaved person into church is like President George W. Bush inviting members of Al-Qadea into the Oval Office to sit in on a meeting to discuss ways of capturing Osama bin Laden. It's something you JUST DON'T DO! PERIOD!

What kind of Christian church would this be if we allowed non-Christians to worship here? Do you think the Muslims allow Christians to worship in their mosques or visit the Temple Mount? Do Jews want us to visit their wailing wall?

Leave it to you take a verse like Matthew 11:28 out of context. When Jesus said and I quote from the KJV 1611 Bible:

28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest."

He was referring to True Christians™ who are sick and tired of people like you who

spend your energies on spreading a John 3:16 message and do the REAL damage.

So what you are really saying is, your intent is to merely paint a false picture of what True Christianity™ is all about. Jacquie, If people come in here expecting some watered down version of what True Christianity is all about, then nothing is accomplished. You wouldn't want to feed your brats some watered-down nourishment now would you? So why should we water down Jesus' True Gospel™?

Let me tell y'all a little story I told the kids last week at church.

Once upon time there was a sinner named Joe. He had spent his life drinking, doing drugs, and fornicating with women. He spent his benefit money on beer and whisky, and begged for more on the street. He was the bum of the neighborhood.

One night, in his usual street corner, an old lady walked by and tossed him a New Testament along with a quarter. Lonely and fed up, he opened the book and began to read. Each day, he read a little more, and then he started to pray. Eventually, he stopped drinking and found a job. Then he went to find a church.

He went along to a beautiful church that Sunday. It was a huge building, with superb stained glass windows and immaculately manicured lawns. He had no Sunday suit, and his were ragged and still smelt of stale beer. His hair was long and unwashed. But he wanted to go to church and find a community where he could learn more about God.

Joe got some strange looks when he arrived at the front porch of his local church. Everyone stopped and stared as he entered the sanctuary, looking for a pew. Then an elder approached him and said 'Friend, we're expecting a very large congregation today. Why don't you try St. Eugene's three blocks along - they'd love to see you'.

Feeling dejected and alone, Joe left, realizing he wasn't wanted at that church. 'What will I do Lord?', asked Joe. 'They won't let me in'. 'Ah,' said Jesus, 'I'm not suprised'. 'They won't let me in either'.
