Sometimes I am proud to be British (not very often though)

Openly gay US bishop Gene Robinson was forced to halt a sermon at a west London church after being heckled.
As Bishop Robinson began his sermon a member of the congregation repeatedly called him a "heretic" and said "repent, repent, repent".
He began his sermon by saying how sad it was that the Anglican Communion was tearing itself apart.
But he was stopped when the man in the congregation shouted that the schism was the bishop's fault.
The man's protest was followed by slow hand-clapping by members of the congregation, and Bishop Robinson halted his sermon while a hymn was sung and the protester was escorted from the church in Putney, south west London.

Godly Americans would have dragged that homer "bishop" out into the street, tarred and feathered him, and then dragged him behind a pickup truck until naught remained but his feet!

Reverend, You are right of course about how True Christian Americans would have handled the situation. But you have to understand British culture, if you can call being led by a WOMAN a worthwhile culture. The Brits are pretty much homers, so I see this not so much as a terribly pansy limp wristed response to the homer priest boy, but as a humble beginning of the restoration of what was once a great Empire that conquered Godless populations!

I see a glimmer of hope here so I will pray for the weakneed British.

My guess is that the British dimwits in the congregation were offering applause for the sodomite "bishop", but as I'm sure they were all drunk (as usual) they couldn't clap in the approved American fashion.

Nonetheless I offer my praise to Jesus for silencing that embarrassing old queer. It's clear that Jesus was directly responsible. I'm sure the Brits would give him a parade, left to their own devices...

However, the Anglican Church is so far off the mark they deserve queer preachers. I can just see that homer preachin' away, all the while some drunken Mick tourist is shouting him down. Imagine all the loose teeth and fillings falling out of their smelly mouths. Yuck. Brits teeth make me vomit.
And the Anglican church makes Baby Jesus vomit. It's a regular puke-fest across the Atlantic Ocean.

There isn't much good to say about the Catlick church, but at least they are ashamed of their queers (publicallly, anyway). That the Anglican'ts parade them all robed up in front of parishioners is abhorrent. That at least one or two Brits are standing up to this abomination they call a church whispers softly that perhaps there is hope.

Perhaps, perhaps. But the Anglican't communion would have to sober up, leave the pubs and go into intensive detox for at least 3 months before they realized what was going on.

Of course, once released they'd probaly stampede in droves to the nearest Catholic church to guzzle the Satanic brew the Catlicks call the blood of Christ.

Not sure that would accomplish anything. I'm thinking on a solution, but I'm at a loss as of now. Baptists are far too holy for the Brits, they've wallowed in sin for far too long. A Brit becoming a Holy and Righteous Baptist would be like a drunken vulture becoming a proud eagle. Some gaps are too wide to leap.
