    A question for y'all.

Hi everyone I'm new to this site i and i have a question.

Upon reading the bible i read that you are to stone disobedient children, but it also says to obey the law of the land.

The Bible also condoles violence, killing and describes the deaths of thousands.

    Luke 19:27:
"But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me."

    Kill non-belivers.

    2 Samuel 24:1-15:
"And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah...Joab and the captains of the host went out...to number the people of Israel...So when they had gone through all the land, they came to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days. And Joab gave up the sum of the number of the people unto the king: and there were in Israel eight hundred thousand valiant men that drew the sword; and the men of Judah were five hundred thousand men...Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee... seven years of famine...thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land...the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel...and there died of the people seventy thousand men." See also 1 Chronicles 21:1-14.
God told David to make a census, but then David thought that its was Sinful and God agreed so God killed 70,000 men. But the American Government does a census every couple of years.

    Genesis 19:12-26:
"And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place For we will destroy this place...he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed...he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt."

Killing someone for looking the wrong way.

Numbers 16:2-3: "And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?"
This last one is about God smiting people who wanted to live in a democracy and not a dictatorship under moses and Aaron, but America is a Democracy!

now I'm confused, can anyone help me?

Yes. You see, we are bound to obey the law of the land, so we cannot obey all God's commands as freely as we'd like, so we are working to reform the laws by replacing the Constitution with the KJV, so we can stone non-believers and disobedient children, and finally abolish the diabolical institution of the census. Any more questions?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

But that means that either way you choose to live you are going against the teachings of the Bible!

No. For one thing, we do not have a free choice; we are compelled to obey the laws of the land, like it or not. Within these constraints, we are doing our best to carry out the Lord's instructions, and to bring closer that glorious day when we can follow His commands without any legal interference. Hallelujah!

But how can we possibly get in to heaven when everyday we are refusing to do the lords work, why would the lord make us with such restrains and then tell us to do things we morally can't do?

Not refusing; unable. There's a difference.
why would the lord make us with such restrains and then tell us to do things we morally can't do?
He's God. He can do what He likes. Why did He tell Abraham to kill his kid when He didn't actually want Abraham to kill his kid at all? Have you read the Book of Job?

              Very good question.

God is perfect. In order to demonstrate that He's perfect he needs to punish sin. How can you be perfect if you don't punish what's bad?

So in order to punish sin he creates man fully knowing that man will sin. Thus man sees God as perfect and will worship Him and beg forgiveness on a daily basis. Which, as luck would have it, is what God requires from us. Do you see how everything fits perfectly and demonstrates God's perfection?

I think you're going to fit in here just fine friend. Here's a little song I wrote and you can feel free to join in...

I want to swim in the Blood of My Saviour
Swim in it all day long
                  Backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly
Jump on in from ten feet high
Swim in the Blood of my Lord

I want to drink all the Blood of My Saviour
                  Drink it all day long
                  Sip it, gulp it, chug-a-lug
He rose from a grave that wasn't dug
Drinking the Blood of my Lord

I want to drain all the Blood from My Saviour
Put it in a big jar
Take it with me wherever I go
Show my friends so they will know
That I'm washed in the Blood of my Lord!!

Ok I'll add in a few little verses

I want to lay in the light of my Saviour
for my sins he did Die
                    we got heretics and fancies
                    all ways questioning why!

So when I'm up in heaven
                    looking at the burning Witches
I'll be laughing and saying to God
                    "Those stupid sons of bitches!"
I'm not a Liar, and thats not a lie!

I've been reading though this thread and I remembered one of Pastor Pistles favorite sayings... "It isn't murder if God told you to do it." And I can't think of a more applicable bit of advice than that. Even though God tells us to obey secular laws, I don't think HE had any idea that there'd be lexbean judges and I know HE never imagined the Democrats. REBEL IN HIM, GLENDORA
