Another song for Brother Jimmy and I for our first album. Lord please make this man a True Christian(TM) someday so I can sing with him without fear of sin tainting the room. Praise You, Lord!
Just a note of clarification: No, I don't nor have I ever lived in a house trailer (The Lord blessed me to be better than that), but I was thinking of the days - or so I am told - when a song told a story that others related to - and I am sure there are some visitors to our forum who are trailer trash and likely can see themselves singing this song.
HOUSE TRAILER IN HEAVEN
By Jesus and BrotherLarry
The Bible speaks of mansions Jesus went to prepare
They're all up in Heaven, hanging in the air
With decorative fixtures and lots of pure gold
But I'd ask a favor Lord, if I may be so bold
Just transport my trailer to Heaven
Put it on a lot in the back if you must
A mansion is nice and I thank you;
Still I don't want my trailer to rust.
I'd love to live next door to your mama,
We could sit on the porch every day
But I think she would like my house trailer
In my mind I can just hear her say:
(CHORUS)
All these mansions are wonderful dwellings
My son was a carpenter you know
But this house trailer was made into a home
When Jesus died so long ago
He transformed all the people within it
He made them His children that day
Not a trailer anymore, it's a mansion
And Heaven is where this trailer should stay.
I'd have Peter and Paul o'er for supper
I'd have James, Luke, and Silas for tea
And if You aren't too busy, my Jesus
I hope that You'll visit with me.
(REPEAT CHORUS)
