  • The Chief Musician Blesses Again

The LORD GOD spake unto me yet another song to use for His praise.

Will You Serve Mashed Potatoes (at the marriage supper of the Lamb)

Last night I dreamed that the angels called the redeemed to the sky
We sat munching on brownies and hot apple pie
There was wine from the Hand of the Savior to drink,
And then suddenly I happened to think:

    CHORUS:
Lord, will you serve mashed potatoes at the end of this life
When we bid a fond farewell to all suffering and strife
Will there be boats of gravy on either side of the bowl
Will there be items for dipping, like biscuits and rolls?
I see peas and corn and carrots, chicken, turkey and ham
But will you serve mashed potatoes at the marriage supper of the Lamb?

The menu choices were overwhelming as I continued to dream
Some of my favorites were the tacos and the berries with cream
The mousse was spectacular, the lemonade made you wink
But as I sat there I still had to think: (Repeat Chorus)
    Proverbs 21:31 KJV 1611:
“The horse is prepared against the day of battell: but safetie is of the Lord.”

Lord, may I serve my equine brothers and sisters just as I do my fellow man.
    Amen and Amen
