  • Guide me, Lord

Don't let me leave your side,
    Lord, always be my guide!
    With You I will abide
As with her groom a bride!

    Your perfect holy will
    Within my heart instill.
    No tear shall I spill
    Nor fall infirm or ill,

As long as by Your side
    I faithfully abide.
Lord, always be my guide -
As in Your stead I stride!
Joshua 1:6: "Bee strong, and of a good courage: for vnto this people shalt thou diuide for an inheritance the land which I sware vnto their fathers to giue them".

Irinka, that is just so lovely! Your love for Jesus certainly shines through!

Your poem reminds me of one of the lesson books we use here at Landover Baptist Sunday School.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Thank you, Mary, that is very sweet of you to say. My kids were at the VBS all last week, learning about doing God's will, and I was at the church every day talking with other parents and praying as we waited for the children. This is what inspired me to write that little piece...

        Hallelujah

When the sun shines bright and all is well,
        I will praise You, Hallelujah!
When the rain clouds cast their hopeless spell,
        I will praise You, Hallelujah!

When You are near, I know, all's right,
        And I praise You, Hallelujah!
When I want to stray, You still hold me tight,
        And I praise You, Hallelujah!

Amidst all things, in bliss or strife,
        I will praise You, Hallelujah!
The most important thing in life
        Is to praise You, Hallelujah!
