Just plaing "Devil's Advocate" here, but why not annihiliberate the island formerly known as St. Michael that is home to Haiti and the Dominican Republic? Like any other tropical island, there's no reason to think it could not be "cleansed" and scrubbed up into a lush paradise ripe for tourism, agriculture, and -- with half the island already having a decent baseball infrastructure -- even statehood.

That's not bad Mirth,I will go one better why not the Bahamas or the British Virgin Islands.All the hard work has been done,no need to build it up into a tourism mecca .As to the population, we can use them a slave labor.Unless of course they are Christian or Female then the rules change.The best part of the plan is that we now have the prise of the plan surrounded,CUBA.We have Florida no the north ,the Bahamas to the east and the Virgin Islands to the west. Those godless commies got no where to go !!!!!!! And as a bonus ,just think of the fine cigars we would be able to buy.........

BigJay, the Bahamas and British Virgin Islands do not have the aforementioned baseball infrastructure and would therefore be less attractive for eventual conversion to statehood. Cuba, on the other hand, is smilarly endowed with the desirable infrastructure and therefore a logical target for plundering, but they have one thing that will make the process more of a long-term goal. They have a military and the inclination to use it to resist. I can't say for sure, but they may also be able to enlist the aid of their communist brethren elsewhere in the world and I'm just not sure it's worth all that. You make a compelling argument when you mention the cigars, though. I will give you that. How can we not be at least tempted? But still, St. Michael is in no position to resist on any level and are therefore "low-hanging fruit" that ought to be picked first.

Point taken Mirth,but as long as we are in the area why not knock off the Bahamas and The Virgin Islands.After all they do not posses a military ,at least not to our standards .And an Island full of virgins intrigues me,let me have a couple of rum and cokes and I can help with that problem.

I don't know that a lot of people would stand still for what would amount to the elimination of some of the last tax-sheltered retirement havens left. Where else could wealthy Republicans go where their assets could avoid the scrutiny of Uncle Sam? Many will argue that they have a God-given right to a place where they can enjoy the trappings of their wealth in a tax-free, money-laundering-friendly environment. Then there's still that whole lack-of-baseball-infrastructure thing. I just don't think it'll fly, dude.

If we had a real Godly president in office, I'd say just move our boys next door to Iran. Clean that mess up and keep moving about. After all, we already have everything we need there and plenty of desert gear, lets get our moneys worth from it. Instead, it looks like the Government will be invading our own backyards.
