God gives Abraham and his descendants all the land of Canaan "for an everlasting possession." This promise has inspired much of the unending strife and intolerance in the Middle East region, and it continues to do so today. "Ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin."
God establishes his covenant with Abram: "This is my covenant ... every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin."
Is circumcision required? (17:12-13, 23, 27)
"He that is bought with thy money"
Does God approve of slavery?

Then why are the rest of the people on this forum afraid to get the tallywacker trimmed ? If I were them I would be more afraid to eat pigs and shrimp Lev.11....
That seems to be a problem they all seem to stray from.

I'm always amused by "cafeteria Christians" who look at their Bible as an "ala carte" menu from which they can choose the tastiest parts that appeal to them most while taking a pass on the gristly bits that are hard to force down. You're very confused. You said earlier your foreskin is yours. False, it is not. God required men to cut off their foreskins (and occasionally ordered to remove other people's foreskins by force) and offer it to Him as a sign that they belonged to Him before the crucifixion. Afterwards, He told everyone they not to do this, and in facts, says anyone still holding onto the tradition of circumcision was evil.

Galatians 5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing

Colossians 2:10-12 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

I guess then that the real question is what LBC's official take is on those who came out of their infancy -- through no fault of their own -- without the now-requisite aforementioned part.

I am also for being trimmed, but entirely because I was, as a helpless and unwitting infant, thus altered and want no part of any sort of "restorative" measures that may or may not be made available.

Well, there it is, out in the open. I am a circumcised, non-Christian, pagan Deist. Heathen_Basher called me an "atheist" in his private message to me explaining my receipt of 40 demerits (my penalty for accurately citing Bible verses). That the definition of an atheist eludes Heathen_Basher is unfortunate, especially for someone endowed with the power to penalize forum participants.

But we pagan Deists are a forgiving lot and I have already forgiven Heathen_Basher for erroneously doling out demerits. Come 'ere, Heathen_Basher, ya big lug; lemme give you a big pagan hug!
