I'd just like to let everybody know that our bought-and-paid-for lobbyist, Senator Joe Lieberman (one of the good Joos that Hitler didn't kill) has rewritten the proposed Obamacare bill almost to the point where we employers can support it. There are still a few flaws that we need corrected - I'd personally like to see a clause added to the legislation that would allow employers like me to deduct a 20% "service charge" for offering insurance to employees, plus we should be able to bill the government for "lost productivity" when employees get sick. And of course, if anyone misses more than 10 days of work a year, we should have the right to fire them, garnish any wages we still owe, make them pay us for the cost of hiring a replacement worker, and deny them unemployment insurance. I think that with these improvements, I could support Obamacare - who says I'm not patriotic?

About those "death panels" for the elderly that Sister Sarah Palin has mentioned...actually, they've got a long tradition in Alaska. The Eskimos used to put their old people out to sea on ice flows when they became useless eaters. Of course, now that the polar ice is melting, we might have to drop them from helicopters.

Not that I believe in Al Gore's global warming hoax, mind you. The ice melt is a natural phenomena, caused by underwater volcanoes. Of course, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal is absolutely right that we shouldn't waste one dime of taxpayer money on volcano monitoring (unless, of course, volcanoes suddenly appear in The Hamptons or Beverly Hills).
