That is actually a quote from former Vice President Dan Quayle. Many of the quotes attributed to Mr. Bush on that list are from other people.

I find it disgusting that the DEMONcrats have systematically tried to smear Our Godly Commander in Chief by misquoting him, twisting his words, and distorting his statements. You would NEVER see Godly Republicans stooping so low.

Sure we have God's Own Choice as President: Second Lieutenant George "Dubya" Bush, as seen in many photos proudly serving his country in the cockpit of a (non-combat) F-102 trainer somewhere near a bar in Texas. But we could have had a policy wonk and future Nobel Prize winner or a genuine Vietnam War combat veteran as president, and we took a pass on those guys.

To be quite frank, Lilith, God loves America because our political system is so unbelievably screwed over that nothing but an act of divine intervention could save it from Hell and damnation entire. If anything that is actually intelligent is ever proposed by anyone in either house of Congress the proposal is immediately shafted, blasted, twisted, and eviscerated until it resembles nothing quite so much as an inside-out elephant: huge and floppy, moistly twitching, and dripping with unspeakable slime.
