As we approach the ten year anniversary of our involvement in Afghanistan, I was praying for our troops. I asked the LORD to show me why the world's most powerful military can't secure a virtually unpopulated country with 100 year old technology.
The Holy Spirit, as it usually does, led me to the answers in the scriptures. I had a eureka moment. How could it have escaped me in the past? The reason we are losing the war in Afghanistan is because we are not pursuing it according to Biblical principles.
We all know war should not be approached lightly. Christ himself told us to turn the other cheek, but it was proven in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks, that the Taliban was an imminent threat to American freedoms.
Having said that, there are a number of things we are not doing as per God's commands for warfare.
Numbers 31:7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
Numbers 31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
Numbers 31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
Deuteronomy 7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
Deuteronomy 7:5 But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire.
I hope any of our fighting men in the U.S. armed forces reading this take it to heart!

- First of all, we are not slaying all the men over there.

- Secondly, we should be slaying all the male children and the non-virgin women.
Numbers 31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
- I am also not seeing enough Afghani child brides coming back to the U.S. as spoils of our soldiers'. This would be a huge morale booster for our fighting men.
Numbers 31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
The rules for taking women captives as your wife can be found in
Deuteronomy 21:11-13 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.

- We are making deals with the natives over there. God does not want us to do that! God calls for their complete destruction.

- We have wrongly respected Mohammedans' religion. God calls for the destruction of their temples and alters. This would completely rob them of their will to fight.
